so, how does TK CC compare to BA WT+? It seems those are the only two carriers with Y+ on NA-India.

i believe vs has premium economy as well on this route....

I searched the web and found Virgin,BA and TK have affordable comfort class/premium economy within a similar price range.. Are there any other airlines that offer the same? But BA and virgin fly through LHR.. which is more expensive due to the fees and all.. So these two are ruled out..

I love IST - the airport is very culturally familiar with me, and I really like that... VIE is similar, and OS has good meals.

Have you travelled through IST? What was ur experience like? Reviews on the web are all over the place... Do you need transit visa even if you wont step out of the airport? And is the visa available on arrival?

For Indian passport, if you have valid US visa, then you can get visa on arrival. Would take additional 30~40 minutes and $20.

I liked the transit experience a lot personally. I think people from the west might find it slightly disorganized, but for an Indian, it's good.

Transit visa is not required, but if you want to leave the airport for under 24 hours, there is a small fee (depending on citizenship). The line was longish (about 30 minutes).

Will my bags be tagged all the way to jfk?

deepakbhatia Oct 13, 2011 3:18 am

So are there any other airlines offering premium economy in the range that TK does?

With all sector prem eco, approx charges would be:

Virgin - ~94.5K per person
BA - ~96.5K per person

AF also offer PE, but that would be expensive at 115K per person.

Yes.

However, TK comfort class is much better than both VS and BA according to some FT posts...

Regardless, I hate connecting in LHR. It's a headache.

Agree, I have experienced all three...

Would rate VS best in terms of service & food and TK is best in terms of seat pitch. BA for none (except for the fact they ug my award ticket 3 out of 4 times).

BTW: VS has a 50% bonus miles offer, check this:
