I assume the new AI-FR rules designate a flat Mile requirement for either a direct flight or via-flights - correct me if I am wrong?

Also, now they even permit 1 stop domestic redemption's which earlier were not possible for the sectors where AI do not fly direct for e.g. AMD-GOI/SXR/BBI and so on which is a welcome change!

All above sectors are priced as a through trip and not per segments!!

For me, the domestic sectors like HYD-PNQ-GOI were charged as HYD-GOI previously too, when both sectors had same flight number. If they have extended it for all connecting flights, then bravo !

Yes they did - last week I did AMD-MAA on their thrice weekly DIRECT AI-982 which was 11K miles one way and my return was MAA-BOM-AMD again costing 11K miles with change of aircraft and different flight numbers (AI93/331)

Even for international which is fairly well established - as I recently did AMD-DEL-HKG for 35K miles in Y which was same mile requirements as DEL-HKG 35K miles - which earlier used to be priced per segment as AMD-DEL 7.5K miles + DEL to HKG - 19K miles = 26500 in total!

Good to know !
There are still some rogue agents within the system like this, hence I was a little sceptical if it had happened systemwide.

Must be one off - as even in the system for the mentioned date of 04/27, I can see 35K mile requirements for HYD-SIN via MAA/DEL both so it looks pretty aligned now!

Does UK (Vistara) even have a working redemption program for award flights? I guess only on SQ, right?

DEL-ATQ 10k miles and Rs900. Not a bad redemption for a 1hr Premiere flight.

Not sure this is implemented across the board ?
I checked few sectors :
Kolkata - Goa -- It showed 19000 miles which is basically Kolkata - Mumbai (13.5k) + Mumbai -Goa (5.5k).

But some sectors like you mentioned (Ahmedabad - Chennai) etc were priced different even though connections (with flight changes were included..
