How are you able to redeem US miles on *A? I thought they stopped that a year back?

Both are operated by B777 and have 35 J class flat beds in 2-3-2 config.

Why not pick AI instead, they ply B787 to / from BKK and SIN. Also a few selective Gulf routes are operated by B747, B777 and B787.

Given that, they have been pricing very attractive fares so as to win back faith. Rather than a redemption on MH, I would compare the fares and maybe fly revenue booking with them to get nice bunch of miles.
An alternate, could be Air Asia and other asian LCC.

Junior pilots highly stressed, financially overburdened, AI pilots' body warns
The AI spokesman said: "The two had an argument. They have settled the issue."
According to senior AI commanders, the co-pilot in question has reportedly faced similar charges in the past too. "Three years back, he asked the commander of a flight to come out of the cockpit, remove the stars on his shirt collar (appulates) and then fought with him. A year later, another commander complained about his 'rude and unbecoming' behavior in the cockpit and questioned his state of mind," said a senior commander.
"AI and DGCA should examine this latest problem in the cockpit. If the complaints about the said co-pilot's behavior are found true, then in the interest of aviation safety the authorities must act," said a pilot
Neither DGCA chief M Sathiyavathy, nor her deputies could be reached for comments.

If this is true is it one more reason not to try AI again after a long abstentation ? This co pilot if the reports are true, must know somebody ! Just think he will be a commander one day
