Haven't thought about it yet. Gonna get upgraded to BA Gold through the status match so gonna try out BA for a while as with KF gone and Jet (I am trying to avoid) there really isn't much choice between UK and India anymore.

If you are thinking of BA, be aware that award redemptions thru LHR will set you back...currently the YQ on CW is more than $1130.

also have to put out 170 K Avios for a ORD BOM ORD on BA vs. 170 K on LH.

I know. They have the worst YQ out there.

And they still have the chutzpah to call their 100k credit card as 2 free tickets to Europe

I have seen fares cheaper than their free ticket.

+ 1

Yet there are die hards who claim their service is worth it . Not to me.

That's why MFU is the best value of Avios.

US Airways and United both don't charge YQ. Big advantage over other Star Alliance airlines.

I think its just a matter of time before they do especially if US merges with AA. AA & DL already have started collecting YQ.

I hope not. I like US Airways the way it is. My favorite airline in the States...

When did AA start? I book quite often with them and have not been asked for YQ yet. Other than on BA! With DL I am ok on YQ too unless its on KLM/AF.

Its the European carriers that love this YQ word.

My favorite airline used to UA till I spent some time in FT and then realized why I was not getting award seats (starnet). Then I moved to US but I am now UA Fan again:

With UA now you can use 9W as well to visit India on a Star award.

Yeah but that is just an old wives tale. You can't really get Jet awards.

I've always been with US simply because they are the legacy carrier with best service to PVD, and usually most affordable as well. The fact that Dividend miles is one of the better programs out there was just a bonus.

Now, I've moved my FFP to A3, and I haven't looked back. Redemptions aren't great, but having *G beats *S any day. Still flying US though. Next itinerary is BUR-PHX-BOS in a few months when I go back Stateside.
