And right on cue, Jetchild advised me that my ticket is valid for 1 year blah blah but the biggest joke is the following:
- Advised that cancellation will cost me 500 JP miles plus 150 RS (no probs, go right ahead)
- Advised that i need to pay 150 cash at an airport counter (not good, im in the UK and i cannot be bothered to go all the way to heathrow)
- Advised that as i am in the UK, no need for 150 cash change fee (sounds better)
- Advised that cancellation over phone does not mean cancellation, it just means that they release my seat. (whats the point of waiting 30 minutes on the phone for that!)
- Advised that i can reinstate the ticket for 150RS whenever i want as long as the route stays the same as currently i have a ticket but no confirmed seat. (ok, thats good, i can travel if i change my mind)
- advised that 150Rs may NOT apply as i am in UK (whoopee, no fee!)
- advised that to get my 2000RS taxes and fees i have to go to airport counter(..., are you serious!)
- Advised that to get a refund on my card, i have to pay 4.50 for the pleasure (no problem but why can't they just deduct 4.50 from the refund?)
- Advised that the agents name was Lisa and i should have a great day and thanking me for calling Jet Airways (go Eff yourself, i only called you because your website is crap!)
What a palava!

It is annoying how easy it is to purchase a ticket on the Jet website (in fact its one of the best for bookings) but incredibly tedious to get a refund on the same ticket!!!!

Regarding Jet Privilege Silver ?
I have been a JP member for 7 years, but given my varied flying pattern, I never managed to reach anything above Blue Plus with them.. Now I have the option of going on a MR in April for 1-3 flights (depending on how much I end up doing in March, due to work).. I am just wondering is it worth the money/ trouble ?
Also, if I complete 14 flights with them in the 6 month period, and I write to them, would they change me to silver, given my association with the program for 7 years ?

Hmmm.. I was thinking of giving up my JACC if I get the Silver.. a lot of the benefits that I get through JACC are covered in Silver.. apart from the miles and the upgrade vouchers.. My illusion with the vouchers has already vanished, more so after the change in criteria for issuing them.. and for the miles, I am thinking of getting the Citi Premier miles card.. and moving my flying to KF, if it survives this turmoil..
.. Lol.. if I touch 14, I will surely try this and keep you posted...

.The thing I find most sad about that statement is that you will find planeloads of people who actually believe that it is true.

It occurred to me afterwards that perhaps I should back up my claims. Especially when disagreeing with a lawyer
Why Air India is not a disgrace:
1) If it were a disgrace, it would not serve rave-worthy Dosas in economy class on a 1 hour flight for breakfast. There is no other airline out there where breakfast is better on a plane than in the kitchen.
In comparison, you can look at Kingfisher:
Quite clearly, lallyr would have prefered Air India's top quality cooking to this crap that Kingfisher served.

Flew IT on LHR-DEL and was among the worst flights ever!
- No Champagne anymore. Forget Dom, not even any sparkling wine!
- Only KF beer and White and McKay whiskey being served.
- The bar no longer open on the flight
- When my colleague insisted on a different whisky they opened a bottle of duty free black label after a long heated debate
- No table cloth laid for dinner
- No snacks, only pop corn.
- Flight in biz was empty and when I asked for a second helping of ice cream was told its over.
