Would a airline buy it out or is shutting down the long term solution?

Holy moly... reading this article it looks like IT is using the deccan aircraft as spare suppliers

VT-ADR is a former Deccan aircraft. '619 parts' could be all the seats too...

By the way, thanks for linking to that article. It reminded me that the surveillance report was just posted on the DGCA website. Now a couple hours to get through the 150+ page document and I'll have some blog posts ready to be written

Looking at the shape their ex-Deccan birds are in, i don't think that's a very good idea...

As a follow up, does anybody know where the report is? The DGCA's website is one of the biggest messes I have ever seen...

My flight into LHR got delayed a few days back and the connecting flight to DEL on IT left 15minutes earlier!!! I made it to the desk at 905pm (ok I know that is 5 minutes before the departure time) but there was no one around and the flight left the gate at 855pm. I was travelling with hand luggage only so could have made the flight!
My complaint on this is that they should have had someone there till at least 930 for those in transit. No one then rebooked me till the check in desks opened the next day!
No one at all in the terminal for Kingfisher. No ideas where my luggage was and no details on why the flight left 15min early.
But hey at least they left

not really... this could have been an aircraft that required servicing (simple A check or fix a cracked windshield or bird hit) then the lease negotiations may have started and a reason to keep the bird grounded may have been found, reducing the need to pay the lease. It looks like some measures where taken to store it (note the wrapped landing gear) and now the engines are being used for spares. The nose is still on just taped over with the silver tape used to fix minor issues till the next inspection. It may very well have been a bird hit.

Avoid.... Avoid... Avoid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Flew IT on LHR-DEL and was among the worst flights ever!
- No Champagne anymore. Forget Dom, not even any sparkling wine!
- No in flight kits provided for a night flight so no Toothbrush
- Only KF beer and White and McKay whiskey being served.
- The bar no longer open on the flight
- When my colleague insisted on a different whisky they opened a bottle of duty free black label after a long heated debate
- No table cloth laid for dinner
- No snacks, only pop corn.
- Flight in biz was empty and when I asked for a second helping of ice cream was told its over.
Over all the worst flight I have ever taken.
The night before the flight left at 856pm even though the departure time is 910 and when I got to the gate at 9ish there was no one to be found at all. I had to stay the night and wait until next day 5pm to get rebooked. The call center refused to help me.
