  • Login problems: If you have trouble logging into the Iberia website, type in your number and password by hand instead of using autocomplete. For some people this fixes login issues.
  • Partner awards: Many flights on partners will not be available as one-way. You must redeem AA flights as a round trip for example
  • Cancellations: Iberia awards on AA cannot be cancelled.
Iberia Plus offer 9000 per booking 21/JUN to 24/JUN on iberia.com

Congrats. Did Iberia give you an extension on the expiration?

Has anyone successfully redeem for an Air Italy flight and can potentially confirm pricing for JFK-MXP?

Separately, if I want to book on a partner airline (say AA) do I have to do a roundtrip with the same origin? Or can I do an open jaw to qualify?

Where do I search for CX and QR availability? AA's website and if sAAver comes up then it should come up?
What are some interesting routes, ideally with a stopover? PKT-AMS-DOH seems interesting. Looking for J/F experience

Its just 1 day more and I have not used a single point. I was hoping to book something and change later but just realized from T&C that exchanges can be made until Dec 1. Not sure what happens after that.

What would be my best course of action at this time to take advantage of these points in future? One random idea is to book a really nice hotel near me and relax there for the weekend than getting $0 value for my $330 spent on tickets.

What about booking a flight with them? I assume that is why you bought the points in the first place 5 months' ago?

Been struggling to book mine for some time - have flights, dates and availability but just can't get the ruddy website to book! Phone agents can't see availability either. Feels like it's being done on purpose.

I just redeemed mine. MAD -> EZE and SCL -> MAD, both in J for 102,000 avios (12,000 moved from BA). Very happy camper!

i was not able to make plans as I was traveling and taking care of other priorities

My original plan was to fly Auckland on AA. Now I realize the dates can’t be changed once I book and I don’t have solid dates. Just have to pick some dates and make it happen.

Has Iberia mentioned anything about schedule changes on awards booked with the promotional Avios? Surely they can't make you lose your Avios if they are the ones changing your reservation?

What kind of change are you taking about? Depending on the award you pay something like 0-25 euros to change your flight. I don’t think it involves refunding and reusing avios unless you make a significant change like origin/destination.

I am talking about involuntary schedule changes/flight cancellations etc. Iberia seemed to imply previously that there would be no changes/refunds on awards issued with the promotional Avios

IB will offer you an alternative flight in case of cancellation. However if you don't like what is offered and want your Avios back, there's a strong risk of them expiring.

Not speaking about schedule changes here, but I do have a feeling that simple voluntary date changes might be ok if you make no changes to origin/destination. Given that these don't normally require a reissue or mileage re-deposit, I'm hoping you can just pay the nominal charge as usual and change to a new date. Won't know for sure until post-12/1 when someone tries, but somehow I just doubt they're spending the time adding a new rule to this subset of Avios bookings. Much easier to just expire any miles from the promo that get re-deposited.

I know this is a hard question to answer and we can't know for sure. I started with 93k. The extra 3k miles are from a flight where I earned miles (the flight was months after earning the 90k). I have about 1500 miles left in my account after redeeming for flights. Does anyone know what will happen to the remaining 1500 miles? I'm not sure if Iberia will be smart enough to deduct the 90k first or if they will use some of my miles that I earned from a flight first and then deduct from the 90k batch. So technically, the 90k miles hit my account first, and then the extra 3k hit much later so theoretically, they should deduct from the 90k batch first and the 1500 should be safe. What do you guys think? Thanks.
