  • Login problems: If you have trouble logging into the Iberia website, type in your number and password by hand instead of using autocomplete. For some people this fixes login issues.
  • Partner awards: Many flights on partners will not be available as one-way. You must redeem AA flights as a round trip for example
  • Cancellations: Iberia awards on AA cannot be cancelled.

USER: Your FT username
OWNER: SELF or WIFE/CHILD/MOM/DAD/etc. Owner of the account (i.e. the name on the account).
ACCT: NEW or OLD. New = created during promo period. Old = created prior to promo period.
YEAR: Optional. Year account opened.
DOCS?: DOCS or NO DOCS. Did you submit identity documentation to IB?
VERIFIED: VERIFIED or UNVERIFIED. Has IB actually verified the docs you submitted yet (via email confirmation)?
POSTED?: POSTED or NOT POSTED. Points posted to account?
# PTS: How many points have posted to the account so far?
MISSING: How many points (that were expected) did not actually post?
DENIAL REASON: If you've been denied or are in limbo, what was the reason stated? INCONSISTENCIES, REFUNDS, WAITING, etc.

The terms of this promotion indicated that you would lose the miles if you cancel your ticket. If Iberia did everything it was supposed to do (give you the miles), why are you trying to cheat them the ticket?

My Topcashback 10 transactions have just gone to "Confirmed" too, so surprisingly, it seems the Avios became even cheaper!

A bit off-topic, but I think this thread is full of people less used to Iberia, so as a newbie too, I will make my observation here.

Ive been using the app to check my Avios balance recently. Why do I get the giggles every time I tap on "my private area"?

Update from my side: I haven't found any appealing use for my Avios, I don't travel on OW carriers typically and only generally book flights 4-6 weeks in advance, so wasn't finding anything worthwhile by December, enquired about full refund and forfeiting Avios, Iberia said ok, have received refund e-mails for 6 itineraries thus far. Avios have disappeared.

Given the exchange rate has moved in my favour (well in this regard, not generally, but 1 EUR is worth more to me now) I'm hoping i might gain a bit

Thanks for the DP. I am in the same situation...no flights appealing. Did Iberia charge any fee? What/how did you request for refund?

100% refund minus the EUR0.57 processing charge on the original ticket.

My Avios did not post back within 48 hours as adviced, but a call to Iberia in Spain fixed it. I had to tell them that I needed the Avios for another booking with only 1 seat left though, as they initially said it was only possible during the week and I called on a Saturday.

If the Avios are needed for another booking which are immediately available, it is apparently possible to spend them straight away. Most employees will tell you it is not possible, but if required send me a message and I'll tell you the name of an employee you can ask for who allegedly can do this (week days only).

Maybe...still got to wait on that 3 months to transfer. Plus there is that negative Avios in Iberia if going this route; maybe not an issue?

Finally got my 90k today......

I waited and waited and then emailed them copying in the executives as mentioned above. Told them that I would be reporting them to the Advertising Standards Authority if they didn't deliver within a few days. Hit my account within 18 hours.

Good luck to anyone who is still waiting!!

Does anyone know what happens if we book an IB flight with these Avios then want to change the date AFTER december 1st?
I know they have to be used by December 1st, and can't be refunded after that, but will we able to change the date in say February / March next year for same route etc, assuming availability? Has anyone had this clarified by Iberia?
Apologies if this had been covered before, I searched but couldn't find the answer!
