  • Login problems: If you have trouble logging into the Iberia website, type in your number and password by hand instead of using autocomplete. For some people this fixes login issues.
  • Partner awards: Many flights on partners will not be available as one-way. You must redeem AA flights as a round trip for example
  • Cancellations: Iberia awards on AA cannot be cancelled.

IIRC Iberia charges 25€ for any reimbursement except to IB+ Platino members so claiming the taxes would be more expensive

negative balance is fine. I can keep in on Iberia but I guess they ll implement a papyal policy kind of style. "collective punishment", e.g. take the Avios from BA account, or your household account etc

Apologies if this has been discussed up thread but I have a couple of "flights" due soon. I'm wrestling with this decision morally and probs wouldn't do it either way but... could we check in to flights we don't intend to fly and have a chance at EC261 if the plane went tech before boarding?

Apologies if this has been asked before.
I have already booked a flight using my 90k avios that I would now like to change/cancel. Online changes are not possible and a refund is not possible online either.
I called the German call center and they told me that I can

a) change my booking without additional cost

b) cancel my booking, get my avios back, but will have to make a booking and fly until end of 2018

Somehow, b) doesn't seem 'real' to me. If I remember the promotions fine print correctly a refund was not possible and also only the booking would need to be made in 2018, the flight could happen in 2019.

As Iberia do not want to confirm any of this in writing I am cautious about the refund option although it is preferred due to various reasons.
Does anyone have experience with this already and has some insight?

Do not call their German callcenter, they know absolutely nothing about Iberia Plus. Call the Spanish Iberia Plus hotline at +34 917 742 607 (I hope that's the right number).
It is true that you can only change the dates, not the routing. For anything else, you will have to cancel and book again. It will take several days for the Avios to be redeposited into your account.
Usually they should be back in your account after about two weeks, but after 2-3 days, you can call again and again and if you are lucky someone will eventually have mercy and return the Avios to you immediately (maybe tell them you need them urgently for a new booking).
The cancellations are handled by a separate department, therefore nobody will be able to help you the first 2-3 days after your cancellation. So that is the minimum time you will have to wait.
There is also a cancellation fee of (I think) 25€ per segment per person.
Note that you can only rebook/cancel IB and BA flights.

IB's IT is astonishingly bad. I can access mobile app just fine (which is of little help because no award bookings) but it locks me out of website every single time, then won't let me reset pin, etc. etc. Infuriating.

I did, was getting very frustrated. It is locked? Have you tried resetting the PIN using the Iberia app?

Hi everyone,
I received about 70% of the Avios, which I am quite happy with. Planning to use them for domestic economy travel within US. I found availability on AA, but when I tried looking for the same dates, routes on IB, it shows that nothing is available. What am I missing here? Can someone please point me in the right direction?

AA and other partners can only be ticketed as round trip, and they can't be changed or refunded. Is it possible you were looking for a one way?

Any tips? I am trying to book LON-AMS. It keeps returning an error: "We regret to inform you that there are no connecting flights between the cities selected."

It seems that I cannot put LON as my origin and get it to show inventory. If I reverse the trip and then change the dates, it knows there is availability out of LON on the date in question.

Any way to get the website to cooperate?

Are you sure you’re ticking ‘pay with Avios’ before you hit search on the main page?
