Departure lounges
Iberia Premium Lounge Dalí
Located in T4 immediately after security at Level 2, if departing or connecting to Schengen, IB operated London bound flights (A330/A350 excluded) or domestic flights: it is a decent lounge with free food, drinks and showers. Open 06:00 to 23:00.

Iberia Premium Lounge Velázquez
Open daily 06:00 to 01:00

Located in T4S (Zone "S") at Level 1 at the edge of the duty free store. Open 24 hours, for departures to non-Schengen and long haul flights; self-serve food, drinks, wine bar (Rincón del vino), restaurant w/ limited hours, targeted to departing intercontinental overnight Iberia flyers.

Lunch buffet 14:00 – 16:30, Dinner 21:00 onwards, Bistro 21:00 - 00:30

When you exit the lounge and make your way to your departure gate, veer left through the duty free store. You can use Starbucks as a visual cue. If you veer right, you will end up in a cul-de-sac.

Arrivals lounge
Sala de Llegadas
Located in the main T4 arrivals hall at level -1. The lounge is equipped with showers and a breakfast room.

This is not a oneworld lounge. Access is provided free of charge to business class passengers who have arrived on an Iberia operated flight of more that 4 hours. Iberia Plus Platinum, Gold, and Singular members may also use the lounge provided they have also arrived on an Iberia operated flight of more than 4 hours. Paid entrance is also available

Lounge hopping
Terminal 4 and 4S are joined by a subterranean train; it is unlikely to lounge hop as the gatekeepers are rather strict about using the appropriate lounge.

It depends on how many you are and the attitude of the lounge dragon. Officially QR/SAPPHIRE grants 1 guest.

The OP mentioned MAD-LHR on IB and to the best of my knowledge it will depart T4 (and not T4S) as it is a Schengen flight (although BA do fly MAD-LHR out of T4S).

MAD-LHR is non-Schengen. However, as posted above it is possible to fly MAD-LHR from either T4 or T4S depending on airline and aircraft, as there is also a non-Schengen area of T4. The usual scenarios for MAD-LON are:

T4 - IB metal (narrow body aircraft), BA metal to/from LCY
T4S - IB metal (wide body aircraft), BA metal to/from LHR

You are right concerning the non-Schengen of course but this is more or less what I meant. So if it's not a wide body aircraft and it's IB metal should be T4.

Can someone please tell which terminal will we arrive in and depart from?
Do we have to go through immigration?
Which lounge can we use?
TIA

You will arrive into T4S where you will go through immigration. You will take the train back to T4 where you will go through security and have access to the Dalí lounge.

Thank you.
I hope that the 2 hour layover is sufficient.
Is there a separate line for J passengers at either immigration or security?

Sufficient to grab a quick bite, maybe not if you want to shower. No fast track for immigration, but there is rarely any sort of line at arrival immigration. (sometimes it goes nuts on outgoing immigration though).

There is a fast track security but even regular security is pretty quick. I would still say use fast track because it goes to the lounge. Go all the way landside and take the lift or the ramps all the way to the top and fast track is to the right of the main security.

The transit security lane seems to move pretty quick aswell.

I am not too clear from the info provided on the iberia site.
So just an update that Bistro is essentially a useless service. They offer the same exact food that is served in the main area of the lounge. The only difference is that you are seated in a restaurant style and have the food brought to you. A little disappointing, but Velazquez has good food in the main lounge anyway.

I spent most of the day on 12/24 at the Dali Lounge in Terminal 4 due to a misconnect. Here are some thoughts:

- The shower stalls are tiny and there was no place to hang my clothes so changing was difficult. Also, there's no place in the shower to store toiletries except the floor

- The nap area was a nice touch and much appreciated by me though I wish there were doors as terminal noise (including loud announcements) and light come in, though IB nicely provides earplugs and eye masks

- Wifi was the next thing to unusable. I got dropped dozens of times before I gave up

- The food options were strange. I've never seen a cold case at a lounge before with packaged sandwiches and salads like you'd find at a coffee shop. Plus, from 9 AM to 3 Pm there were no changes, the same pastries and cereal that were out for breakfast stayed out all day. I was hoping for hot soup or similar for lunch.

I spent 6 hours there yesterday from noon onwards.

What was interesting was that the nap area was a bit of an attraction, there was a lot of curiosity with some people even taking a camera to photograph the area. Perhaps not the most relaxing experience for those who were trying to get some rest.

The food offering at this lounge is OK, but if you've been there are couple of times it gets very boring. The lack of hot food is an issue.

I did notice that on one side (turn right after entering) there was a toaster with bread and rolls. So at least for breakfast you can make some toast.

I just wish they'd provide hot food, as they do at T4S.

The Dalí lounge is for short Schengen stays. For people that are going to be there for several hours, the train to the city center takes 30 minutes and costs less than 3€ each way.

Well with an EU passport, I would just go through immigration and head into the Velazquez Lounge. It's free and you'll probably spend €30 per person on food anyway.

Unless of course you've never been to Madrid.
