If you’re going to hook the PH, the cheapest rates are prior to 30 August. Lead in rooms were $350 per night recently.

We've stayed a few times on the Prive rate in the last few months, and have noticed that the property credit is almost worthless right now in some hotels. Obviously, it depends on which property, but if the property does not have it's restaurant open, there really isn't much you can buy with it. For the properties without restaurants right now, they have not really been accommodating to find a way to use the $100 credit. I'd like to know if any of the travel agents on here have had conversations with the Prive reps at Hyatt about this, and what Hyatt's response has been. It would be really nice if the hotel would, for example, give us a $100 voucher to use for property credit in the future, rather than lose it. Or, if we could receive points in lieu of the $100 credit if we are unable to find a way to use it.

So it's been a bit challenging. And we've had numerous conversations with managers at specific properties and the corporate team at Hyatt. In a few cases, we have secured our client some WOH points when they haven't been able to use the credit. But the official stance from corporate Hyatt, is that if properties don't have a way to accommodate the Prive benefits such as the property credit and breakfast, they should temporarily pull the Prive rates (which several have).

It seems like the breakfast benefit is hit or miss everywhere, just like for being globalist. I was told by one property that the official stance on breakfast is the same for prive as globalist -- if nothing is offered, you get 500 points per night. However, I had another property not honor the globalist breakfast or give points.

With the property credit, that's good to know. I'll have my travel agent ask about points. How many points have you been able to secure on average when the property has been willing to? 5000? I'd have more use for points than my other idea of getting a voucher for future property use. I'm trying to get some reference points from more than just my own experiences, so any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

The specific property we had an experience getting points was Hyatt Regency Orange County and our client had two rooms and they gave 5,000 points per room.

A$350? I was in Sydney in February and I think prices were starting at around A$1000.

Hmm...I actually have a stay at this property coming up in mid August.

Was the issue the Prive’ credit, the breakfast or both? Also, if you don’t mind me asking did you receive any feedback from the client about the stay, whether it was great or otherwise?

I noticed they recently dropped the Prive’ credit down from $100 to $25 as well.

Has anyone else noticed Prive’ bookings no longer showing the confirmed upgrades in the app?

Prior to a couple weeks ago they’d be upgraded then show up in the app.

Now, I’m being told they’ve been upgraded, but the changes don’t show up in the app or on the website.

Just wondering if it’s just me, or a new thing.

From our experience, 95% of the time, they don't show up in the app. And they should actually never show up in the app. The way the upgrades are done is on the inventory on the back end. A few hotels have been doing it incorrectly (which is why the upgrade might have shown up on the app), but that is not the correct way it is supposed to be done. Hyatt is working on a fix with the Prive system so that it will show when upgrades are confirmed on the client's end, but that update was delayed with the pandemic.

Wow, I didn’t know that I’ve seen Prive’ upgrades in the app at several properties. That’s good to know though. I hope it’s rolled out to all properties soon.

My Prive upgrade at the Andaz Scottsdale showed up in the app and on Hyatt.com right after it was confirmed ~3-4 weeks before arrival, and I got a reservation change e-mail to boot, with "Prive upgrade" noted in the comments field. On the other hand, neither the app nor the website shows an upgrade for my upcoming reservation at 50 Bowery in NYC, and I think it worked this way too at the PH St Kitts and Andaz Amsterdam, among other locations, a couple years ago.

I'd rather have some written confirmation of the upgrade, but beyond this why does it matter whether it's indicated in the Hyatt app or not? If the upgrade on a Hyatt Prive booking is confirmed in advance, I wouldn't expect to have problems unless the property is very badly managed, in which case they shouldn't be participating in Prive (or WOH).

To me, the difference might be that if I get a further Glob or Prive upgrade, it might be more likely to show before check in if the initial upgrade appears in the app, but I'm just guessing here.
