I just selected my Milestone rewards as TSU, and all of them showed up on my account immediately valid through 2/29/24.
Those 50 and 60 milestone TSU certs show 2/28/23 expiration date.

Yay, great news that the Milestone awards choosing TSUs in 2022 will be valid through 2/28/24. That makes my decision easy to pick a TSU instead of 10k pts for a Milestone that I earned in Oct but hadn't chosen yet!! Thx for reporting back everybody!

Tried using a TSU and the suites do not show available. at the HR Chicago, MHC contacted the hotel and the hotel "blocked" the suite for me, but it did not show in the reservation (although a paid stay, not points)
today's experience with Tampa. Suites do not show available under the standard, member, pre-pay, or corporate rate. MHC was nevertheless able to book the standard suite and it shows in my reservation.

Interestingly, I dug a bit deeper and found out, that the suites show available, when booking a special rate (e.g. "bed and breakfst")

unsure if you get results, when clicking on this link: https://www.hyatt.com/shop/tparw?loc...&rate=Standard

this is a new situation I have never seen before.

I’ve seen it plenty, as long as the Suite is actually available they’ll be able to block you into it, even if it only shows under a certain rate.

Another property in Dallas had Standard Rooms Available on points, Standard Suites on points and one specific Standard Suite only bookable on Points + Cash, but not straight points.

Asked MHC and used a TSU no issues.

my point is more that they do not sell suites under standard rates, but only special rates being standard+something.

And I’m saying I agree…

Hyatt even says that this practice is acceptable for Standard Suites and even for Standard Rooms that a property may sell a Standard Room under a certain rate plan (Bed and Breakfast or 2022 Getaway) while not making it available for points redemptions.

I was just providing another example.

For Members who have received Globalist status for a multi-year term, additional Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards will not be awarded each Calendar Year upon elite status renewal (unless the Member otherwise re-achieves Globalist status by satisfying the Tier-Qualifying Night or Base Point accrual requirement). In no event will a Member receive more than four (4) Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards on the Effective Date of these Terms.

2. Redeeming Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards. Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards are valid for one (1) year from the date of issuance and must be redeemed for reservations with a checkout date before the expiration of the Complimentary Suite Upgrade Award. Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards can be tracked through the “My Awards” section of the Member’s account. A Member must redeem a Complimentary Suite Upgrade Award when making the underlying reservation. Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards are not valid at any of the Suite Award Ineligible Properties or Hyatt Residence Club hotels or resorts. Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards are redeemable only at participating Hyatt hotels and resorts that offer suite accommodations (subject to the exclusions set forth below). For purposes of this award, a suite provides for one-bedroom accommodations. Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards are only valid for standard suites, defined as each participating hotel’s or resort’s introductory suite category, and are subject to availability. There are a limited number of standard suites available at each hotel and resort. Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards cannot be redeemed for premium suites (i.e., any Specialty, Premier, Presidential or Diplomatic Suites or similar suite categories), as designated by the applicable hotel or resort. Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards are redeemable only where the designated suite to be reserved is available for the entire length of the Member’s stay.

Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards are valid on nights for which the Member has paid an Eligible Rate or has redeemed points for a standard-room Free Night Award, a Club Free Night Award, or a Points + Cash Award, up to a maximum of seven (7) consecutive nights. Not valid in connection with any Free Night Award other than those identified above, including, without limitation, Hyatt Credit Card premium and anniversary Free Night Awards, 5-brand Free Night Awards, Category 1-7 Free Night Awards (defined below), or any other promotional Free Night Award. Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards are not redeemable in connection with hotels or resorts that have not yet opened when the Member makes his/her reservation, even if reservations for such hotel or resort are otherwise being accepted.

Suite Upgrade Awards are not valid at any of the following hotels or resorts: Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort and Spa, Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa, Park Hyatt Sydney, Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills, Hyatt Regency Kyoto, Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort, Hyatt Regency Tulsa, Hyatt Regency Wichita, Hyatt Paris Madeleine, Hyatt Herald Square New York, Hyatt Key West Resort and Spa, Hyatt City of Dreams Manila, Hyatt Centric Santa Barbara, Hyatt Centric South Beach Miami, Hyatt Place hotels or M life Resorts.
I have a reservation for a room block rate, booked through a link on a conference website that goes to the hotel's regular hyatt.com booking page with a code for the rate pre-filled and only standard rooms offered. I booked this--it's a fully refundable rate with normal cancellation conditions--with my personal credit card. I'm paying personally for the room (although I expect to be reimbursed by my employer), so it's definitely not a master bill or direct billing situation. The rate looks fairly normal for this property, although regular rates for my dates are significantly higher than the group rate, probably because the group will occupy a significant fraction of the hotel.

My WOH Concierge tells me that I cannot apply a TSU to the reservation despite availability of all suite categories for the entire length of my stay. However, when questioned, she tells me that I *will* earn points and nights credit, which tells me that I've booked an eligible rate through a Hyatt channel.

Is this correct? I thought that a TSU confirmed upgrade could be requested for any booking that's eligible to earn nights and points, assuming that the hotel participates in the TSU program, which this property does.

[In fact, I'm sure I've used a TSU several years ago for the same meeting at the same hotel, although it might have been under the old HGP program. I've also used WOH TSUs at this property in the recent past when not participating in a conference.]

Have you tried calling the standard globalist line and seeing if they can process it? Sometimes, and completely randomly, my concierge picks the weirdest hills to die on and a quick phone call to res usually fixes it.

I believe you should be able to apply a TSU, eligible rate, tier & points given.

Concierge is notoriously uninformed and frankly dumb in most cases. Just call the globalist line.

Welp, after 7 years of being a globalist, I miscalculated the nights I needed for my last trip of the year, and it put me one night under the 30 needed to extend my status. I emailed my concierge hoping I might get a reprieve since travel is starting to pick back up, but she said there's nothing they can do, and my status will end next month. Kinda crazy since Marriott extended me months ago through 2023. Disappointing though as Hyatt status and point valuation kills Marriott and I've always liked the rooms better, even though there are more Marriotts around than Hyatts in the world. Maybe I'll get enough nights sometime in the future to get status back, but for now I'll be sticking to Marriott.

Go higher.

Years ago, Jeff Zidell would respond and he would have most definitely comped you. Email Mark Vondrasek.

Using TSU if standard room is not available

I was attempting to use points + suite upgrade award for a 2 night stay later this year. I found dates where the standard suite was available (the room in which I would be booked into with the upgrade) though there was no standard *room* availability for those nights. I tried calling customer service and she told me it was not possible to book me into the suite with the award as there was no standard room availability. Does not really make sense to me... Anybody have any experience in getting around this? Would reach out to my globalist concierge though she has made an error on every reservation I have asked her to help with, so don't have confidence she would be of much benefit.

Unfortunately the CS agent is correct. You could reach out to the property (either yourself or via the concierge) to explain what you'd like to do, and see if they'll open up a standard room for you, but it's not guaranteed. Of course, you can also book a non-standard room on a cash rate and apply the TSU.

You always need to have standard room first before you can apply suite upgrade. Them the rules. Otherwise we would all be at Ventana already.
