Good point, in the future I'll list the name and number of the person who should get stay credit, and just the name (not the number) of the person whose account isn't being used. Thanks.

Why list both numbers on the reservation, rather than just the name of the person whose account isn't being used?

I came across a situation and I wonder if others have seen the same thing.
A hotel (Hyatt Place Des Moines) has plenty of All-Points availability but they have no Points & Cash Availability (until May 2016). It seems far-fetched to believe they're "Sold Out" that far in advance. Shall we assume that this hotel choose to opt out of participating in the Points & Cash program? |

It is very normal for me to see all points but no P+C since late last year. |
There is no generic opt-out for P+C, a property can simply decide for themselves when to offer it.

Is it possible to upgrade to a suite (6k) or Club room (3k) with points in a P+C booking? The terms say upgrades can only occur on Daily Rate (and above) bookings but I was hoping someone has experienced otherwise.
|
No you cannot, the T&C's are correct.

But you can try asking if they do P+C for club rooms though, or P+C & pay to upgrade your self to a higher category room.. |

I don't see any published rates for P+C for Club rooms. How are these calculated? Is it just $75 (or whatever) on top of the published rate?

It's not an option.... The only thing you can do is contact the property directly and ask if they are willing to upgrade you for a price. It's going to be at their discretion of they are willing and at what price. There are no standards here.

I see, thanks. I was at HR SF last week on a pure award stay, the the person at desk offered a Club room for an additional $75. I wasn't sure if that was standard or hotel-dependent.

It is completely hotel dependent. Some hotels offer Club access on all types of rates when the Club is not full. It can be a great value for non-Diamond guests, especially with families at resort properties. But other (probably most) never allow this.
Not sure why it is so hit and miss though because I typically get it for US properties but never Asian properties. |
Just another data point regarding combining C&P with a DSU:
C&P was available at the PH Zurich for my dates in July as was a DSU. But it was strictly either/or - combining the two was not permitted. |
