If it were a DELAYED opening then you'd have a grain of reality settling into your posting.

As it is, yet another spiel of gibberish from your account.

Really,

So did the Park Hyatt open as scheduled ?
Did the Hilton Waldorf Rajadamri open as scheduled ?
Did the Renaissance Pattaya open as scheduled ?
Did the Sofitel Sukhumvit open as scheduled ?
Did the Hua Hin Marriott open as scheduled ?
and I could go on but leave it to you to negatively comment but as always, no basis, but only talk without any knowledge.

WOW, you truly are clueless in a class populated solely by yourself.

To follow up, you are mentioning delayed openings rather than stepping up openings by T-45.

To quote Pink Floyd: Hello, hello, hello, is there anybody in there?

for those of you who remember Sammy from Hua Hin (I couldn’t stand him as always closing the club area jacuzzi at 5PM which is the earliest most Thais will go out in the sun) he’s designated to be the new GM here

That’s a very specific & petty complaint. However, Sammy is actually the Grand Hyatt Taipei GM has been there for a year almost. The GM in Bangkok is the ex HM from Grand Hyatt Erawan -Sarah I think is her name.

Petty to you but not to me or like Thais, or other Asians, who won’t go out in the sun before sundown making my ability to enjoy the jacuzzi moot and Sammy’s reason was he didn’t want anyone with wet suits to spoil his open lounge area (but this was okey in the morning!) but even after happy hour the hypocrite kept the jacuzzi off limits.

And my info was from another GM based here in Bangkok

I think you’re confusing the HP, which recently opened with Saraid as GM, and the HR which has yet to open where I was informed by another GM (with another brand) that Sammy will become GM, but at least I won’t be running into, or over, him anytime soon

Picture as of earlier this month - construction of the Hyatt Regency seems to be progressing reasonably well. It will be a good addition to the Hyatt portfolio because there is quite a bit of a gap between the HP and the GH/PH in Bangkok.

21 suites out of 273 rooms does not sound like a lot. It might not be easy to get suite upgrades there once the hotel is over the ramp up period...

A guest service manager at Grand Hyatt Bangkok told me that the latest news is that HR Sukhumvit will open in November.
