The shortest flight from Male Domestic terminal to Kooddoo Domestic Airport is ~55 minutes and the longest flight takes ~1 hour 45 minutes due to a ‘stop over’ in Kadhdhoo Domestic Airport.

A scenic and short speedboat journey of approximately 30-40 minutes (weather dependent) will follow as the final stretch of the journey to our island.

Map of the resort
Best Villas
Water villas: Generally the higher number the better. #51 is the most private
How to save money during stay
Have late breakfast (breakfast is free for all guests except if you are redeeming points), skip lunch, and only pay for dinner
The Saturday free cocktail social (manager's reception) is at 6:30pm
Bring family?
This resort is not orientated for children. No kids club, pool is not suitable for young kids, and you will need to pay the transfers for each child, and plenty of PDA.
That said, some families have loved their experience here. http://travelsort.com/blog/park-hyat...hadahaa-review. If you bring children the Hyatt does provide sitting service for $20/hour.

Also note that the resort charges $250 per child age 3 and up per night (even if the child does not require an extra bed). Only kids 2 and under are free. http://travelsort.com/blog/park-hyat...a-bed-fee-ever
Wifi
As at January 2022, the resort's wifi speed is 10-12Mbps.
Tipping
The management views employees as each part of a team, with no one more important to the hotel's success. No one wants to order room service if the groundskeeper or housekeeper has not created an inviting place to enjoy it for instance. So employees share equally the 10% service charge added into everything, including the room charge. Tipping beyond that is not necessary, but at your discretion. Unlike the service charge which is shared with all employees on the entire property, if you choose to add additional gratuity to the bill for a meal or an activity, that money is shared amongst employees of the department responsible for that meal or service (e.g. additional gratuity on a dive center bill will be shared amongst those employees, while additional gratuity on a Dining Room bill will be shared amongst the food service employees). Employees are also allowed to keep cash tips that they receive directly. Employees are rewarded with trips and other gifts when their outstanding service is brought to management's attention. A great way to reward a good employee is by letter to management.
See this post which provides more details http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/22508516-post1525.html
Ipad App
There is an Ipad in each room that has an app with a lot of useful / interesting information. If you have an Ipad, you can search & download the app for: Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa. It doesn't work on an iPhone due to the page size. Some info may be out of date or missing, so check with the resort.

The house reef is good, but it's not that good (as to be anywhere near as good as your boat dive... sure it's great for some freediving from shore or OW villa) - it is a waste of the first morning if one wanted to do a two tank AM boat dive that morning. So, allow an extra day (if you're counting dive days) and/or arrive such to accommodate the requirement (e.g. arrive at noon and do that in your afternoon).
This seems perfectly reasonable. It is entirely possible that someone could be PADI certified, but need a refresher course before diving in more potentially dangerous conditions. Safety first is always the best policy.

Would you guys suggest pushing through and taking the late night arrival into the resort so we can wake up in paradise, but use up points for only half a night? Or would it be better to stay over at the Trader's Hotel and get in during the late morning the following day, but have an early wake-up and another day of travel?

My wife is a bit nervous about taking a late night boat ride in the middle of nowhere, but we hear it might be a cool experience? Would be great to hear thoughts from some experienced travelers!
We have always arrived on the 00:30 flight on Sri Lanken and Hyatt has put us up each time at Traders. I cannot speak to pushing on but for us, we liked staying the night in MLE since it was free (no flight option within 2 hours) and we did not have to use points for the first night. We had a chance to get to sleep, eat breakfast in the morning, and get to the hotel by 10:00 AM the next day. Saved 25k points in the process as well. Traders is a pretty nice hotel by most standards.

We are actually looking at the Cathay flight for next year and have decided to stay at Traders on our own (since there is a flight that can take us on time) and transfer in the morning. The only difference is that we have to get over there on our own but I am sure Hyatt will pick us up from there in the morning. Agree that there is not much to see in MLE. May not be right for everyone, but has worked for us on a few occasions.

Thats interesting - I was not offered a free night at Traders despite a late arrival time in MLE (~11pm). They actually recommended hotels (including traders) and listed the approximate prices. My stay was on points and I was/am Diamond.

That is strange. We were never told in advance if we would make a flight that night or if we would be put up at a hotel but they have always been there to greet us at the airport and take us over to MLE for the night. Technically we arrived at 12:30 AM local time and I had a reservation for that "day" so maybe that makes a difference? Would imagine that it wouldn't really matter if there is no flight though. As a planner, I do hate the lack of info but just going with it has worked for our trips here.

On our trip, the Malaysian Air flight was so late, we missed the internal connection flight. The Park Hyatt did not put us up at Trader's, and we ended up paying a considerable sum, $3-500 for that one night. It came recommended from the Hyatt host who greeted us at MLE.

To top it all off, we were still charged the points for that night's stay which we missed in MLE. Asked again at property to no avail. That is the only negative thing that I can point to on an otherwise memorable trip.

I would email your PL agent or corporate care. Travel insurance will hopefully cover the cost of the night in MLE.

That's the exact flight schedule I flew. Arrived 2-3am at the PH. If we had the time, we would probably stay the first night in Male. The sea could be rough if it was raining. The boat ride to PH in the middle of the night was fine because the seas were clam, but our return ride during the day was quite rough.

We did the CX connection in August. It was a bit tiring having to hang around MLE airport for 3 hours (even in the lounge) followed by another 90 minutes in a Dash-8 and then the boat, but I think it was the better option. I considered overnighting in Male but the hassle factor of taking all our bags over, and then waking up to yet more travel the next morning, outweighed biting the bullet on the points to stay the extra half-night. In retrospect it was the best decision for us; although tiring it allowed us to wake up the next morning and know that we were there with no more travelling required.

Note that CX is adjusting its MLE schedule from 17 December to arrive at 1955. I don't know if this would allow you to get on an earlier Maldivian connection to the PHM.

Thanks for the heads up on the orientation dive. I don't mind doing a quick dive on the local reef then.

Thanks for the info on the transfers guys. I'm on the same CX flight, so it'd be good to get out to the resort early!

Hello guys need a bit of advice,
I am visiting here with my wife first week of JAN (as a platinum)
Both of us are vegetarian and I got the following information emailed to me from the folks @ Maldives:
Breakfast supplement USD 42.9 per night for adult per night
We are planning to skip lunch and have a late breakfast. Is it worth to book this above breakfast supplement from before or does it not matter? And what does the above breakfast supplement cosist of?

Thanks

Poisonsag, in my opinion the breakfast is well worth it. If you are trying to save money, the late breakfast is large enough where you can skip lunch and just spend money on dinner

If you don't have breakfast included then you're better off with the half-board, which includes breakfast and dinner. It used to be $100, it's a little more now (refer a few pages back in this thread for the updated pricing).

If you have to pay for the breakfast, this might not make sense. If you want to skip a meal, why not just pay as you go and then skip either breakfast or lunch? Often resort meals are so large, that three full meals a day is too much anyway.

At resorts I often skip breakfast and just have lunch and dinner. If I get up early I might have breakfast, an afternoon snack, and then dinner.

It may be a good idea to consider a half-board or full board meal plan.

I haven't been to this particular resort, so do not know, but it sounds like they are simply offering to "include" the breakfast at the same price it would cost to order it on a day by day basis. I would not choose to pay for breakfast in advance, and would either do everything on an à la carte basis, or choose one of the meal plans (which would also include breakfast).
