I am going to Vegas in July (1st time!) and I have started looking at hotels. We will be coming in late on the 3rd (Tuesday), then leaving for some National Parks and coming back likely for two nights on the 8th (Sunday). I am looking for somewhere clean and fairly nice on the 3rd, but we will just be sleeping and then getting up in the morning to drive. On the 8th/9th I care more about the Vegas feel...casino, four star+, etc.
I've started looking for hotels for promos here and on mycheapvegas and it seems like a lot of places don't have promos for that time period yet. Or else maybe they don't have promos since its July 4th? Should I hold off booking? Also, any recommendations for a good/cheap place for the night on the 3rd are appreciated.

I saw this Groupon today when I was hunting for Vegas deals. Its not a hotel deal, its for a spa day, so I am not sure if this is the right place. Not sure if its a great deal, but it seems pretty good! They apparently did the same deal on Travelzoo last year and the reviews on Yelp were good...no one had any problems getting the deal. The travelzoo deal sold out at 711, and this one is at 500, so might not last too long.

Co workers of mine have and they had no problems. We looked at booking with Jet for a trip this April and tho they are cheaper than booking direct with MGM we found a better rate booking with an owner on VRBO.

hi everyone, been looking at these threads for a while and just wanted to thank everyone for helping me save some money.
for hotels, originally booked on expedia for the mirage, but checked www.mycheapvegas.com on everyone's recommendation. rebooked during the cybermonday promo when they had $33 rooms and saved almost $200!
for flight i actually managed to get an expedia brg and used it to book flight + hotel package but selected the cheapest room for only 1 night. did this for 4 people and overall saved about $400 altogether!
enjoyed my hash house and stripburger too! love this board!
