A lot of the time these days, it's either a resort fee, or an similar fee for using the internet. I've stayed in hotels that brag about not having a resort fee but still charge $20 per day for using the net. Caesar's currently charges $14.99 per day according to Expedia. What's the difference?

I guess the difference is $20 if you don't use the net... but most of the folks here are probably going to pay it just to get on FT, right?

Oh, that's steep. Then cosmo seems to be the only non-kidding premium property.

You couldn't pay me enough to stay at any Harrah's property...as nice as they might be on the outside, they're all dated and old on the interior and this includes Caesars! Cosmo, like the rest of the properties at CityPlace is non-gaming with the exception being Aria which is quite nice as well.

I suppose if you dont want to pay for a premium property you can always stay at Excalibur or Circus Circus and be on either end of the Strip in which case you should be more worried about whats crawling around in your bed as opposed to what's being charged to your account...

I am trying to decide between the Wynn/Encore and Monte Carlo (for 1/2 the price (for a 1 night stay)). Any opinions.

It depends on your priorities I suppose...if you're looking for a quality stay in a beautiful property, I would go with Wynn/Encore; however if you want to save money and pay the lower price than go with Monte Carlo.
I've stayed at Encore once and was blown away with not only the hospitality (and i'm not a high roller by any standards) but the quality of the rooms and property in general...and you don't even notice the smoke very much on the gaming floor in comparison to other properties.

Monte Carlo is definitely more of a 'budget' option even though it advertises itself as a 4* property...i'd say its closer to 3* as i think the obvious difference between the properties is when you've got Garth Brooks performing at one, and the Jabawockeez (break dancers) at another it should be an indication...but thats just my opinion.

Well it seems like money is a concern to you, then I'd go with Monte Carlo. It's a nice quiet property.

However, depending on your date, you might be able to Priceline or Hotwire a decent property at a great price.

I have a 10 pm flight so I could stay at the Monte Carlo until 8 pm for the same cost as Wynn until 12pm. I have still time to decide though.

The Cosmopolitan certainly does have a casino. It's also NOT part of City Place..Other than proximity, it has nothing to do with that development. I'd suggest everyone go and sign up for their Identity players club card. You get to spin a wheel where you're guaranteed a prize. My partner and another friend in our group of 4 each won $500 in slot credit which they turned into over $1500 in actual cash. Another friend and I each won a free buffet...and their buffet is great.

I think you guys mean CityCenter, not CityPlace. Also, Cosmopolitan does have Casino and it is not part of CityCenter; next to it, but not part of it.

Oops, my bad...I did mean City Center...Cityplace is a development across the street from where I live

Regardless of whether or not Cosmo is part of CityCENTER its a far nicer property than anything Harrah's has to offer that much is for sure!

Just wondering, when I tried to book using this Promotion Code, I noticed in the T&Cs, it also mentioned the Family and Friends Offer T&C which includes free buffet. Is this part of this offer, or it is just some stuff up on the website?

Thumbs up Palace Station waives resort fee for November

This is a "you read it first on FlyerTalk post" because I can't find the information anywhere, but I confirmed by calling reservations: Palace Station is waiving resort fees for November ($15 per day, plus tax).

I noticed it on entertainment.com's portal which uses hotels.com's engine, and the rate said "No Resort Fee". There was nothing else about it, and nothing on the Palace Station website, or anywhere Google knows about. So I called, and the agent I spoke with confirmed it, said they're waiving the fee for November.

Maybe this just came out today.

I'm going to "reward" them by changing my plans and moving to their hotel. And let them know it is because of the resort fee.

And I didn't think of checking to see if it is true for any other Station casinos.
