Within a minute of the code going live I was applying it to my booking and the app would say that the coupon was applied and would begin recalculating the total. But then the total just stayed the same.

And it was showing hotels in the 9AM slot that are now in later time frames. What a mess.

Entered code, price went down to ~33, entered CC, app error, came back, entered again, was charged full price (as I guess coupon expired or something). Luckily it was refundable.

this year sucks compared to last year. orbitz is offering a 20% code (that can only be applied to a few hotels), whereas last year it was in the 75% range.

expedia's 90% is identical to last year, but it looks like they've limited availability big time.

is my reading correct that you can only apply the promo code to the dates listed for each hotel? i.e., the code only works 2/1-2/5 for the 10am SD mission bay hotel? if that's the case, that's awful! they probably blocked 1 room per night for each of these properties.

last cyber monday i booked the moana surfrider waikiki 90% off with wide open availability on expedia, and a new hampshire b&b for $17/night on orbitz.

i booked a room at the moana surfrider for ~$30 on expedia. the resort fees were more than what the room rate was.

I only saw this 2/1-2/5 nonsense on Black Friday's 75%off fiasco. What does this have to do with CyberMonday's 90%off?

i didn't try. iirc, last year they put up a list of about 5-10 properties in touristy (i believe US only) cities at noon eastern. availability was wide open, and the 90% off was good for at least 5-10 minutes. 1 redemption per account, whereas orbitz let you book as many as you wanted.

actually, i believe orbitz was $100 off any hotel. and it worked for $101 rooms. i ended up just paying tax essentially.
