Just leaving after a 8 night stay, just wanted to provide a quick update, happy hour at Vilu is now 4:30-5:30 and run overlapping the afternoon tea from 4-5.

But anyway they could have used a dhoni to take people from Mandhoo straight to Vilu, that would have been enjoyable.

One thing I saw from past visit reports is the afternoon tea and the happy hour each had their own set of food dishes. The tea had the typical items like scones, some small sandwiches, etc. and the happy hour had some slightly fancier hors d'oeuvre dishes. Is this still the case or how does it work now that they are smushed together?

I was quoted the following prices for my upcoming stay:
Water Villa to Superior Water Villa - USD80+ taxes per night
Water Villa to Retreat Water Villa - USD280+ taxes per night
Is the Retreat Water Villa worth the price to upgrade? We've never been to the Maldives before or stayed in an overwater room anywhere but it's our honeymoon so debating going "all out".

K, thanks. I'll add the data to the wiki.
As far as choosing between the SWV and RWV, it's six of one and half a dozen of the other. There has been some talk about this choice on the thread in the last couple of months. I suggest reading the last 100 pages or so to get a number of viewpoints.
Personally, and after staying in both, I'd choose SWV over RWV due to the fact that they're all sunset-facing, beds are also sunset-facing. Size is not important for us and we never used the second room in the RWV.

1. Guaranteed sunset view
2. Great ocean view from the couch/bed
3. Better location near the Quiet Zone and the best beach on the islands
4. Close to Over water Spa, which we preferred to Spa Retreat
+ for RWV:
1. Better deck
2. Ocean around villa better for swimming in
3. Better bathroom in the villa
4. Larger villa

While this is true, I would argue that overall it's better around the SWVs as there is tons of dead coral and consequently 100x more fish swimming around than at the RWVs.

Is the sub back in action? From one of the latest TA reviews
For those who don't know how to dive or swim, they always have the option to take the submarine to explore the underwater world.

Buying points for short stays may not be worth it at all: $0.005 per point * 95,000 points == $475, equivalent to the cost of a BV during low season.
A 5-night stay is a better value, at $0.005 per point * 76,000 points == $380.
If you think you can book far enough in advance that you can snag a 5-night stay in a WV, then it's really quite a value.
