Hilton's Websites have been down...anyone notice?

Both last night and tonight I have been trying to access the Hilton.com site and get a screen indicating that the site is down, with links to the other Hilton brands (though none of those links work either).

Strange...

Latest 2 Hampton stays show online, but no points or miles

Very weird; my Sunday and Monday night stays in SLC and BOI just showed up online, but with no points and no SWA .5 points. This is a first. I've been Diamond forever. Funny that it would go so far as to show the stay and the rate, and even send me one of those "Thank you for staying with us" emails for each night this morning, but not post the points. I'll call the Diamond Desk and get transferred around to see what's up.

I've been trying for days to change my VIP benefits from Breakfast to 750 points for HGI. The site just stares back at me after I press "update". I still have 10 days before my next HGI stay, but I am frustrated. I will eventually call the DD to get this fixed.

After changing my airline preference in My Preferences, the old preference still shows up as the preferred airline as if I haven't made any change. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a "confirm" or "accept change" button that I've missed? The same happens when I tried to change the airline program on the reservation page. After changing a particular airline for earning miles, when I review the reservation again later, it still has the old record. Either I must be doing something wrong, or...

This has been happening to me a lot lately. The stay will show up within a day or two of checkout and show the folio dollar amount but show 0 miles and 0 points awarded. Even with the "Thank you for staying..." e-mails, the "Miles awarded" and "Points awarded" sections haven't been there for my last 10+ stays...only check-in/out dates.

Within another two or three days, however, the miles and points magically appear next to the folio amount. No worries...these things seem to eventually work themselves out automatically most of the time.

Very true; they did show up. Now if the .5 points would ever show up at SWA...5 nights in 5 Hampton's, it sure adds up.

I hope so. I am currently looking at a stay that ended 2/23. The stay shows. The folio shows (or it did yesterday, but not today). No points, though. I'm antsy because once the points from my last 2 stays post, I'll have the GLON certs I need for 12 roomnights at the Vienna Hilton.

As to my earlier problem, there was one day in the last week that the Hilton website ran smoothly and I was finally able to change my HGI preference from breakfast to points. I was given 2 breakfast certs at check-in, and a coupon for 2 waters, however my bill showed the correct number of points, including the triple base bonus and myway bonus!

Now post the points, HH! Please.

edited to add: The points posted after 5 days. It still doesn't show on the main page, but if I tab to stay detail, there's a different, higher point balance. These things have been out of sync before and I needed a CSR to fix it. Last time it showed me Gold on one page and Diamond on another. I think HH needs to unify its databases.

We stayed last week at Hilton Grand Vacation hotel near the Las Vegas Hilton. As a Gold member, I was upgraded to a 1 BR instead of studio. However, upon checkout, I see they tried to bill me for the unasked for upgrade. I am only hoping they got it straightened out as we had to leave for the airport.

They reversed the overcharge and the guy was going to accounting to fix the mess. Today I checked with my credit card company and the charge is correct. Happy day! I kept copies of everything in case I had to fight the good fight at home. I am not sure why the website's price was not in their computer for checkout but they did find the original reservation finally. This is not the first time for us. A few years ago, almost everytime we checked in the hotel ignored or did not have the reservation agreement and we were charged for whatever the hotel wanted. In each case, because of flying from the west coast, we were showing up around midnight, no real manager on site, with an issue to be resolved in the morning. Really a pain. We always prevailed but the nuisance factor was huge. One time it was in Romania! That really was fun. I had to show the manager that the rate was on the computer - fortunately they had one!

As of March 2007, you have enough Stays to maintain your Gold VIP tier until Feb 28,

The last word in my title should say "2007." That is what my wife's account says when I sign into her account and view the "VIP Tier." Does that make any sense?
