Great to hear that the lounge is now open (and pretty much in line with the timescale I was told by them too) - I shall be booking another stay soon. I had told myself that I was going to stay away (despite this being my favourite Hilton property in London) until the lounge was open again. My last stay was on the night of the Euro semi-final against Denmark and they cut the 'happy-hour' timings for when you could collect your Bento box to cater for the full house watching the football in the Distillery bar. This meant I missed my free drinks and bento box completely, and then the only way to get a drink to watch extra time was through room service as they weren't allowed to serve at the bar. They did waive the service charge though.

The spread described above sounds better than I remember it being pre-Covid but that is to be taken with a pinch of salt as my memory gets different stays and hotels muddled after about a year!

Thanks TBS for all the reports from across London.

Breakfast fully self service

Hi,

Now having breakfast in oxo and it is fully self service and free being diamond

excellent selection of hot and cold items including pancakes made to order. They are very good and 2 is a good number to order without feeling completely stuffed. Ask for maple syrup if not offered by the chef which he did. Whilst not as refined as the blue boar pub in the conrad ie no blueberry compote , creme brioche and a small pot of berries as well as being a bit thinner they are very delicious.
baked beans available on request and come in small pots
oat soya and almond milk also readily available in small bottles as is all the milk
Unusual Items are so far

Coconut milk
Prawn cocktail in a small tumbler
Haribo and lollipops for children

In room minibar with soft drinks and 250ml bottles of still and sparkling water and 2 packets of crisps are free.

Only minor complaint is the shower is very easy despite best efforts water on the bathroom floor.
room very quiet overnight.

Regards

Tbs

You probably already know this as I’ve mentioned it many times on this thread but the honey nut granola is absolutely the best granola I’ve ever tasted, try it with milk and one of those luxurious yogurts.....pure delight!

Indeed ... it is an error to pass by the Granola when staying at Bankside. It has become something of an obsession for some of us...

Hi,

Today's hot options are

Vegatble stir fry
Chinese noodles
Grilled chicken both breast and leg
Vegetarian quiche

2 different salads from yesterday( one has fennel and the other one has couscous included)

Deserts are vanilla cheesecake cubes with mixed berry compote and chocolate brownies.

After a hot day at hms Belfast then the cutty sark and the royal observatory with great views .depending on location you can just glimpse the london eye but st pauls and the shard are visible. I stopped at the distillery for a cocktail.
chose a #149 (signature cocktail) with pineapple gin and tasted like a pina colas and was very refreshing.
was gbp 12 plus 12.5% service charge so average for hotel.prices I think.
lounge about 50% full.

Interesting biscuits refilled today in my room coffee tray as it was Viennese whirl.
tried the ginger beer from the mini bar- not quite my taste but others were better. The apple crisps were very good.

Regards

Checked in today at 3pm. Checked out again at 11pm and moved to the Hampton by Hilton. Awful overpriced hotel to be avoided at all costs.

Something must have happened, as this is not the normal experience.
