At 23.5-hours from request, the APPROVED my BRG claim! They did indeed reference www.lasvegas.com as where they found the rate, and NOT SLSLasvegas.com as I had indicated in my request... sounds like it's pure luck that the rate was listed in both locations.

SoFlaGuy, any luck on your request?

I just submitted a request. I did a reservation for the weekend of November 14. $189 first nite and $179 second on Hilton.com lasvegas.com didn't have SLS rates available but www.slslasvegas.com had is for $134.25 Friday and $141.75 second night. I made sure to put in the comment it was at www.slslasvegas.com and not lasvegas.com

Will I get the $50 gift card after I complete the stay and they will match the rate or doesn't the $50 gift card require the stay?

I was very clear about "SLSLasVegas.com" in the comments section AND the website field, but they still referenced "LasVegas.com" in their response. I was lucky that the rate WAS available on lasvegas.com in my instance. You may get denied initially and have to fight them on it, so I'd be prepared (start taking screen grabs of the rates on SLSLasVegas.com in case they're no longer available when you start going around with HHonors).

Smart idea. I just took a screenshot of it. I'm booking at HGVC as well for a backup since they are a lot cheaper and I never have an issue with an upgrade providing they have suites available and will be a good backup plan if the SLS gets reviews like the Trop does.

Not sure why SLS isn't available that weekend on lasvegas.com I bet we'll see rates go up on SLS's site instead of seeing them come down on Hilton.com

Was checking rates through Hilton's website for July 2015, and they were coming out to $7,999 per night! I assume this is some kind of IT error.

Still no response

Still no response to my email with screen caps and reinforcement of the correct web site. Not much confidence in the Best Rate team.

Did they send you anything stating when you will receive the gift card?

I received a confirmation today via Email with the original reservation number showing the rate at $138 a night (First night was $134.25 and second night was $141.75 so it is the average of the two nights).

I definitely want the $50 Am Ex card and there was no indication of that in the email (I figure that will pay for the resort fee).

My email said the AMEX gift card would be mailed 7-10 days after completion of the stay.

I may call the diamond desk. All I received was a revised confirmation. HGVC is only $77 a night that weekend with my corporate discount so I booked there also. I'm going to see how the reviews on here are before deciding where to stay. Hopefully they will treat us a lot better than the trop.

I'm wondering if they will give HH elites casino elite status as well like the Trop use to do.

Just a random search 12/15 - SLS LAS website = $82.00. Hotels.com = $82.00. Hilton.com = $87.00. So is Hilton going to cough up a $50.00 gift card on this?

On a side note, I spoke with two couples that stayed at the SLS Las Vegas, and they enjoyed their visit this past week.

There's no min required difference in rate, only that the third-party rate is lower (other chains with similar programs do have a minimum difference, but usually $1 to keep people from making claims on rounding issues)... so yes, assuming they're comparable rates (same terms, cancellation, etc) they should match the rate and send the AMEX card after the stay. I would also check lasvegas.com for those dates as that seems to be what the BRG team is using for comparison regardless of what site you tell them you found.

Booking 20 room-group at SLS Las Vegas - Earning Question

Hi All,

So I have an HHonors earning question.

I'm HHonors Gold (thanks AMEX) and I have both the AMEX Surpass and Citi Visa Signature (not Reserve).

I understand I can get 6 points per dollar from the Citi and 12 points per dollar on the AMEX.

I am in the process of booking a 20-room group at the SLS Vegas (A Curio property), to the tune of right around $7,000. I am most likely not going to be actually *staying* at the property.

For *charging* the $7000 in rooms to *either* card, am I able to earn the 25% Bonus for HH Gold? Or would I only earn the base multiplier offered by each card?

Thx!

Credit card earning is separate from stay earnings. If you are not staying you will not get any points except the credit card points.

You should contact the hotel directly and tell then you are organizing a group stay and want to speak to the group organizer. They can give Honor points and extra perks for groups but you must do it in advance and get it in writing!
