Curio V hotel Dubai. Booked king deluxe for 7 nights. Pre-upgraded to round bed V suite. Too bad the wife is not with me on this trip.
This trip is going well - got an op-up to Club World on BA flight to DXB tonight as well. 2 for 2 on both flight and hotel upgrades!

3 night stay using points, booked in standard king room. Front desk proactively upgraded us at check-in to a Junior Suite in the Beach Tower, which has a nice balcony with ocean view.

Arrived a bit early for checkin and my room
type wasn’t available so I got upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite with a river view. This was on an airline staff rate that was extremely cheap.

Hilton Garden Inn San Diego Mission Valley Stadium (29-30 Jan): Booked a1 KING BED WITH SOFABED room, was already upgraded at app check-in the day before to a 1 KING BED 1 BEDROOM SUITE WITH BALCONY.

I am NEVER disappointed with my diamond upgrade at Hilton properties! 
But,
I NEVER expect any upgrade whatsoever.
I'm even stoked when I am given an "upgrade" which amounts to a room equal to the one I booked.
This is a Hilton Diamond coping skill.

Booked regular room. Upgraded to One Bedroom King Junior Suite. Asked for a high floor at check in and got 601. Long stretched room with separated sitting area. Spacious bath. Drawback: smallish window which is shadowed by 6th floor facade ornaments outside. Other floors don’t have these.

Upgraded from Standard Queen to King Jr. Suite. One night stay.
I used the bed, desk, closet, and bathroom - same as I would have in the Queen I booked.
