The HHonors pick-em game is straight-up picks only, not against the number. Very different from parlay or teaser plays. While I'd have almost zero chance of hitting a ten-teamer in Vegas, I think I've always got a decent chance of going 10-0 straight up. Figure six games out of the ten are locks (again, straight-up only, not talking about locks in the sportsbook) and four are up in the air. Any given week: a lot of people will go 10-0.

It happened in 1984. It will happen again this year. Brigham Young University will win the National Championship!

[Yea, right ... not with the Bowl Alliance controlling which teams get to compete in the top tier of bowls. BYU is in a conference that doesn't get an invitation.]

National Championship?? What, is Steve Young coming back to do graduate work? It's not the alliance, this team sucks. After all of that moaning and groaning about respect for their inflated record against punk teams, they got rolled by Hawaii 72-45 and Lousville 28-10 to end the season. Too bad they don't have a NIT for football, that would be perfect for BYU.

Oh yeah, cool promontion

Share Your Holidays and Win!

Share Your Holidays and Win!

You could win $1,000 for you and $1,000 for a friend.

Every time you use your Visa card at any Hilton HHonors hotel in the U.S. from November 16 through December 31, 2002, you'll be automatically entered to win $1,000 for you and $1,000 that you may share with a friend. Each winner will be awarded a single $2,000 payment.

No purchase or obligation necessary to enter or win.

This Visa and Hilton HHonors' Share Your Holidays Consumer Sweepstakes is distinct from and in addition to Visa's Share Your Holidays Consumer Sweepstakes offered by Visa from 11/01/02 through 12/31/02.

No Purchase or Obligation Necessary. Non-Purchase Entries and Purchase Entries have an Equal Chance of Winning.

To Enter: The Sweepstakes begins November 16, 2002, and ends December 31, 2002 ("Sweepstakes Period"). An eligible Visa cardholder automatically receives one (1) Sweepstakes entry for each purchase made with his/her Visa card during the Sweepstakes Period at any participating Hilton HHonors hotel within the United States ("Participating Hotels"). Only purchases made at participating Hilton HHonors hotels in the United States with a Visa card that is in good standing and issued in the U.S. by a participating financial institution, and processed through Visa U.S.A. Inc.'s transaction-processing system during the Sweepstakes Period, are eligible for automatic entry. Cash advances, balance transfers, non-U.S.-dollar purchases, Interlink-processed transactions, and purchases authorized by entering a PIN (Personal Identification Number) are excluded from entry. Cards that are stolen, fraudulent, tampered with, or otherwise altered are not eligible for automatic entry. In the event of a dispute, all entries will be deemed to be submitted by the primary person in whose name the Visa card used to enter the Sweepstakes was issued.

Can someone explain this to me

"This Sweepstakes is open only to natural persons who are, as of May 5, 2003, age 21 or older, legal residents of the United States (excluding its territories, military installations and commonwealths), residing in the fifty United States or District of Columbia, excluding residents of Rhode Island. "

On the registration form you are ALLOWED to choose a country. Why choose a country if its ONLY open to some US residents?

They are tempting you to lie or to tell the truth according to your situation. Whereupon the contradiction between what you told them before and what you tell them now will be forwarded to Ashcroft and you will be suntanning indefinitely in Cuba.

Or perhaps they are just too cheap to get a tailor made site for their contest.
