Yep, just saw one at SAN this morning on my way out of town. Looked like it was parked in one of the reserved stalls.

Ram Rebels and Ram Laramie Longhorns are in the fleet. DFW just got a decent shipment of them and some were brought over to DAL as well. The Laramie Longhorn is crazy nice. The premium upgrades section was full of them but most are gone now.

Dear all,

I rented a Range Rover Velar in category K4. Does anybody know if this car is not available that the other option will be a Jaguar F Pace?

I’m in doubt if I should switch to the Escalade so I can get that car or a Lincoln Navigator which are in the same category.

Thanks!

I just arrived from Los Angeles, I had rented category Z4 and they gave me a GLS450, I could have the Range Velar but I gave up because it had a very poor finish, without navigator or applecar. I wanted the Velar and in the end I had to pass

Rented a T6 for a week and was given a Yukon XL. Really nicely equipped with all the bells and whistles, but it has 2nd row captain's chairs making it a 7 passenger. I asked if they had any 8 passenger T6s instead and was told they don't carry them anymore. Two different managers said they no longer advertise or carry 7 passenger SUVs/Minivans, nor do they order them as 8 passenger. I found this a bit suspicious as I know the Suburban LS comes standard with bucket seats. A quick check of Chevy's website confirms it's an option on the LT's, which probably make up most of Hertz's fleet. However, one of the managers walked with me while we checked all of the Suburbans they had on the lot and they all had the captain's chairs. Maybe Hertz is indeed ordering these only as 7 passengers now, but curious to know if anyone else has had a similar experience.

I've rented Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon/XL 6 times in the past year or two at 4 different airports. All 3 Hertz rentals had Captain's chairs, all 3 National/Alamo rentals had the bench seat. Those seems to be their standard configurations.

Update:
I had recently spotted the Lincoln Aviator and Nautilus at LAX and LAS airport locations

Aviator being a Z4
Nautilus bring T4

The most interesting part is that the Aviator isn’t officially on sale at dealership and even the Lincoln website doesn’t even have the price of the vehicle yet.
I cant wait to try one out.

Currently have a Nautilus... Worth the $20 upgrade. granted the Ram 1500 Limited was neck and neck before I took the Lincoln,

I’m currently in a Ram 1500 limited
Probably the nicest non luxury classed rental I’ve gotten since the grand Cherokee summit

I'm curious where you got the Grand Cherokee Summit. I know the Overland West franchises have some.

Not surprising, actually. I would imagine the number of renters who really need room for eight is pretty small, and, if you don't need room for eight, then the seven seater is much nicer for the folks in back (no need to fold up the second row to get in and out, more third row legroom, etc).

I had personally received them last year from lax/sfo/las.
But I had also seen one at MCO when I visited last year but that one had California plate.

Was told from a hertz manager at lax that those higher trimmed cars were leased just to help out in the summer, they gave out of service mileage of 5-17k miles compare to other cars which normally have 20-30k miles,

Last year they also had the scat pack challenger and some high trim 300S with hemi engine which were leased cars, I had also receive challenger V6 fully loaded last year, Along with the fully loaded Subarus too. Those all left the fleet by the end of September of last year.

This year I suspect that they’re doing the same again that’s why I had my Ram 1500 limited. I had also spotted a new wrangler rubicon with the powered top when I returned my ram an hour ago.

Hi all,

Booked H4 (Intermediate Elite SUV) @ SAN for a trip in August. Anyone have experience/knowledge of the current H4 fleet? Really dislike Cadillacs and hoping to score an European model (GLC, X3, Q5, etc.). I'm PC with Hertz if that matters, maybe I can ask for a Macan (Dream Car, so wishful thinking?!)?

Alternatively, have another reservation at Enterprise for their Premium Elite SUV (BMW X3 or similar), which I think is the same level as Hertz H4 for $25 cheaper, but would prefer Hertz given I'm already PC and can skip the line.

Thanks in advance for any insights!

Most common vehicle of H4 should be QX50 and Nautilus
Then it should be Evoque
Next should be GLC
XT5 is actually pretty rare in the fleet
And X3 actually aren’t classed as H4.

If you want a Macan, you can just book whatever that cheapest car class and pay for upgrade. Dream cars will never be given as free upgrades no matter what you book unless if it’s the absolute last car on the lot.
