Consolidated Maui Restaurants Thread
Aroma Di Italia is kaput
Empty for about a month Kihei has lost Aroma Lulus Alexander's And n Wailea , Matteo's |
We had a great meal at Amasia, alan Wong's restaurant in the Grand Wailea.

Japengo (sushi restaurant at Hyatt) was outstanding, even by California standards, and a good value given the size of the portions (the rolls were about 3x larger than we see at home!). Highly recommend.
Pineapple Grill at Kapalua Bay course was also enjoyable. Can't beat 1/2 price apps and hhour drinks in the large bar area. The ahi taco and calamari appetizers were great, but the quesadilla was a miss. Skip the pineapple upside down dessert and go with the bread pudding instead. Star Noodle was a major disappointment - highly rated on TA and yelp but don't waste your time here. Cold garlic noodles and yucky vietnamese "crepe" (which was not a crepe at all but really more of a fried shell taco lettuce wrap idea). Mrs. B is throwing up her meal in the next room. Will update as the week goes by. |
Thanks for the reviews. Pineapple Grill sounds great.

Aloha Mixed Plate in Lahaina has great views and good food at reasonable prices.

Thx! Da Kitchen - various locations. Authentic Hawaiian plate lunch. In fact, it's hard to beat a plate lunch for value, wherever you get one (and there are plenty of places). Cheeseburger in Paradise - Lahaina. Never left any of those places hungry. They also have cheap places like McDonalds, though we have a rule when in Maui that we don't eat anyplace that we can get on the mainland. |

Moose McGillicuddy's in Kihei or Lahaina. I recommend the Mahi Mahi Fish and Chips.

Can I get around with using my credit card or I need to have cash on hand for most food purchases? |

The Da Kitchen by the airport is quite good and gets much better reviews than the location in Kihei. Charley's in Paia is a breakfast institution. (In both cases portions are very large so don't over-order). Coconuts in Kihei has good fish tacos. For better suggestions you mention where in the island you plan to stay. (Its an island, but not that little). Check out Trip Advisor too. Aloha |
Maui - food within walking distance of the Four Seasons
Greetings all. Treating ourselves to a few days at the Four Seasons at Wailea. Don't intend to have a car. Sure, can and probably will eat some meals on the resort. But, to the degree possible, want to consider going out. So .... anyone with reasonably recent experiences with anyplace walking distance from the Four Seasons? any meal, any "level" of food, including markets if we want to buy snacks etc.? Thanks so much for your help.
