Cellblock - Chicago
Not a favorite listing, but for anyone who knows the Cellblock in Chicago this thread seems like the most appropriate place to post this. Danny (bartender/mgr) passed away last Saturday night of a heart attack while working at the Detroit Eagle. It was sudden and unexpected. I assume Frank sent a message to those on the email list as he did for friends at the Detroit Eagle, but if you had not heard the news consider yourself informed.

After going out on 4 continents in the last few years, the Cartwheel in New Hope, PA may of been the best. Shame it burnt down. (For those who are not familiar with New Hope, its like a small version of P-Town just north of Philadelphia.)
As for bars still around today, Tropicana Beach Bar on Mykonos is awesome when its a gay or the boys take over it. Otherwise, Sky or Stereo in Montreal are always rank high in my book.

I couldn't help but notice the two different videos playing. On one screen (nearest that dark area) was a leather video that slipped into some bondage, then to S&M involving whips and catheters (ouch). When I couldn't bear that any more, I went to the other video thinking it would be a bit tamer. It was a LOT tamer. They were showing The Princess Diaries with Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews. 
But I suppose catheter S&M porn and The Princess Diaries does average out to an R rating.

)In Singapore, I like Outback. but wouldn't go there unless I was with friends - it's dark, and seems like a date place - no chance of meeting like-minded singles.

Difficult to choose a fav so my top 3 are:
The Bulldog, Brighton, UK (my local!)
Con Hombres (The Eurovision Bar), Helsinki, Finland
Number 7 Bar, Sitges, Spain
Special mention must be made to Cellar Bar, Gran Canaria, Spain.
Royal Vauxhall tavern in London used to be good on Sunday afternoon til the DJ changed the music policy.
Not found a bar in the USA yet that made me want to return.

I think we should start a thread on the best gay clubs...since there is one on the best gay bars.
Best gay bar I think is Roscoe's in Chicago and then Meteor in Houston. The W hotels have trendy bars that can be gay at times
Fav Gay club is Southbeach in Houston
2nd Place gay club is Chambers or Ybor GBar in Tampa

OK, here is the OT stuff…
I can’t help it… Told myself not to do it… And then…
Ooops, I did it again…
I’m not the adventurous type who would visit all the bars in a city… But I like to visit a few that are you’ve-got-to-visit type of bars in the city… And hence, rely a lot on knowing the popularity of the bars with the masses… And there is no better way to gage that than from the feedbacks here…
And since I’ve the list, thot I would just share it…
Now, there are a few bars without official websites… So if u know the url or if the bar is closed, appreciate if u could send me a PM... That way, I'll be spared from making a wasted trip to the city…
