I'm headed to AC tomorrow. Staying at Caesars comp'd Sunday and Monday. Including room rates, resort fees, and taxes I am saving just under $300. That doesn't count the value in free drinks after I pay $10 to get into the diamond lounge and eat!
Thanks FoundersCard!

This hasn't been mentioned here yet, but Total Rewards has a partner deal available with the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas for a free four-night stay for Diamond members. Just an update on the two current (best) deals for 1 year :
$295 + $95 initiation fee. (which is basically $390)
and my "regular deal" which is $395 (waiver of initiation fee)
The misleading part about the $295 mentioned (for 1 year), is that there is an initiation fee for all of those (1 year) sign-ups. Just verified that with FoundersCard.
But, there is still a 2 year deal ($295 x 2 prepaid) that gets a waiver of the initiation fee. (and is there "truly" a $295 yearly rate)

I applied for the card 5/18, got accepted 5/19 and immediately requested upgrade to TR Diamond, got an email later that day saying they were processing my request and it would likely be completed 5/27, but I got email today (5/24) saying that it was done. Confirmed upgraded to Diamond on my TR page (which looks funny with the "TR Points: 0" right underneath it). Success all around - well, will be true success when I get the $100 restaurant credit, but I'm hopeful.
Obviously, if it happens to post sooner (two weeks will be in a few days) or even just 2-3 days before, I'll get awesome value as I definitely won't have to pay resort fees, and I can use the Diamond lounge and get the free show tickets.
The only reason I'm probably going to book without the upgrade posting is that I have someone to split the room with so the $15 per person loss be night is somewhat palatable.

I once gained Platinum status during a stay (back when Platinum waived the resort fee) and had no hassle getting the resort fee removed on checkout (this was at Bally's LV). So as long as your account shows Diamond by the 17th, I'd wager you'll be fine.

You and the previous poster must have happened to submit during a slow week. I submitted on May 26 and was given an estimate of June 17th. I'm hoping I'll get lucky and get it before then but it looks like I'll be gambling on an upgrade by booking a trip next week with checkout on the 17th. I'm hoping that at the latest, Diamond status pops up on June 17th and I'm also hoping if that's the case, I'll be able to get the previous days resort fees comped when I check out.

[EDITED: I exchanged email with FC - this will not work for Diamond or HHonors etc during the trial month - would have been too good to be true]
I just got my physical FoundersCard in the mail. Along with it came a "VIP Trial Membership for one lucky person in your trusted membership". Has anyone used this to get a month's FC membership and parlayed that into a year's Diamond status on TR? If so, how long did it take from application to Diamond, and did they then cancel their FC membership?

Just an update: my Diamond status processed on Monday June 13. As I stated above, I was emailed the June 17 date as my expected date. I was gold status when I checked in the morning June 13 and Diamond when I checked in the afternoon.
