OK, so now we're up to $250K. Where does the rest go?

Is $3 million for a parking "facility" out of line? If it is just an open piece of ground, I would agree, but all the month-ago discussions about this referred to "construction" and a parking "facility."

http://www.nj.com/mercer/index.ssf/2...ders_will.html

"Additional plans include construction of a $3 million parking facility, and $200,000 for improvements to the airport’s taxiways, roads and ramps."

And again:

"Included in the draft ordinance, is $3 million in bonded funds for the construction of a parking facility at the airport."

I guess it depends on anyone's interpretation of the word "lot."

That's easy. Lot = hard surface on the ground; facility = multilevel. So which is it?

I've no idea. If it is going to cost $3 million, I assume it is a facility.

If it is just open ground, i would expect a dramatic reduction in cost to build - and a reduction in the bond required to pay for it.

I assume we might know more after the Freeholders meeting. I don't see the point in trying to guess.

Well, It still doesn't say whether it will be a parking lot or garage but it does say it will have 1100 paid spots for passengers and additional 124 spots for employees and rental cars. Based on what I see, I think they may be cutting it a bit close on number of spots and there will be a parking fee added due to this, so it disapoints me that it seems like they are going for the bare minimum and charging a maximum size parking fee.

It would seem odd if they are going to end up with less spaces than the 1300 (free) they have now.

That's good for the summer rush. Hope they will be back after fall construction at TTN and Frontier comes back.

Another article says the same thing
"The revamped parking facility will increase the number of available paid parking spaces to over 1,100 and an additional 100 non-paid parking spaces for airport employees and for Avis car rental."

Yes, there is Sunday Schedule. I just lookup onto the entire website. You can take route 608 or 609.
It's a good thing I didn't just take this post at face value. While the 608 runs on weekends, it provides very limited service, making its last stop far from anywhere that would be convenient to the airport. It would be about a 3.5 mile walk to TTN from the last stop.

On weekends, 607 and 609 will get you much, much closer than the 608 so for anyone reading this thread, do not take the 608 on weekends. You'll end up stranded in the middle of Trenton.

If anyone is interested, I've created maps that show the different public transportation (read: NJT bus) routes near TTN
