My First Frontier Experience

I am a well seasoned traveller,as my Signature suggests. I had my first opportunity to fly Frontier from DEN to SNA. Boy, was I impressed! Every Frontier employee that I talked to from the agent at DEN that sold me my ticket to the Flight Attendants, were superb. It was SO refreshing to me to see airline employees that seemed to really like their job. The Direct TV was free. I got to watch CNBC and see Jim Kramer and "Mad Money" on my way home. I am Elite with lots of airlines,so I was comped "Ascent" Member within minutes of me sending another airlines Elite card to Frontier. I am planning to fly Frontier much more. Yes, I know they have no First Class, but with 33" of seat pitch and exit row available to Elite members, thats all I need.
As I get older, I like the idea that I will no longer have to "stress out" with the other airlines wondering if I get a First Class upgrade. Keep up the good work Frontier. I will see you soon. God Bless

Not Impressed

Sorry, my Frontier experience was disappointing. I flew Frontier for the nonstop flights to and from Denver from BWI in the past week. They were more than an hour late both ways. Outbound was probably due mostly to weather, but returning we had to deplane and switch aircraft on the redeye for mechanical reasons.

My other issue is that there was no way to pick a seat before I buy online, and then no way to switch seats online. These are things that I routinely do on American and on other airlines. When I called customer service I repeatedly got different stories about seat switching. I had to go to the airport very early to get out of the middle seat. Frontier needs major webste improvements.

Frontier service in the air was a high point; the flight attendants were much more attentive than the average American Airlines FA.

I have to agree with the OP. I flew about 14,000 miles on Frontier last year and about 25,000 on United, and found the service on Frontier to be far superior. Direct TV makes up for Ch9, and there isn't much else of a difference on a domestic flight anyway. UA's international routes and the * alliance earning and redemption opportunities are what help UA, in my eyes. If F9 could tie up with a reasonably good world alliance, that would make me choose Frontier for every domestic flight

The good news is that the F9 site will be getting a major update in a few more months. Glad to hear the inflight experience was good!

That's great to hear. This supersabre, or whatever it's called, caper was a real step into the nineties.

Given your handle and apparent knowledge, maybe you can give me an answer to something re online checkin.

For a couple years, I've been able to get exit row seats in online checkin. No longer, even tho I'm Ascent (earned, not comped. ) In the past couple weeks, I've been told various things, but the dominant (urban myth?) seems to be that the FAA stopped it.

I figured it was just the same customer-challenging system at work. Do you know the real story?
