For a couple years, I've been able to get exit row seats in online checkin. No longer, even tho I'm Ascent (earned, not comped. ) In the past couple weeks, I've been told various things, but the dominant (urban myth?) seems to be that the FAA stopped it.

I figured it was just the same customer-challenging system at work. Do you know the real story?
