2/2012.

Reason was:

Finnair develops its route network and stops flying to unprofitable routes to Kajaani, Kiev and Stuttgart.

This is not a question regarding a new frequency, and I hope it's not a cancelled frequency question either..

Does anyone know when flybe publishes their timetables and/or how far out they go? I'm looking at HEL-KOK for around xmas, but they only have flights in the system until the penultimate week in October. Same dates for HEL-KAJ, so I assume it's an overall timing issue.

On the other hand, Finnair-operated domestic flights (e.g. to KAO) are already bookable for the beginning of 2014.

Thanks!

11 months in advance is the commonplace within airline industry - IMHO?

That's what I thought as well. Holds true for AY, but not for flybe (at least in the two cases I checked). I signed up for their newsletter and will check back from time to time.

Looks like AY is dropping W13/14 DEL to 3 per week from Dec 3rd 2013.

W12/13 it was 6 per week.

Couple of new returns HEL-KUO since April fools, but still a very aggravating situation for business travelers: 7:30 KUO-HEL and 16:50 HEL-KUO sold out day after day after SAS gave up.

These routes used to be flown with 320:s or 321:s in good old days, but now only with lousy FlyBe ATR:s!

Norwegian, please come and help us...

Finnair opens routes to Nizhny Novgorod, Samara and Kazan in Russia

This summer Finnair will open new routes to Nizhny Novgorod, Samara and Kazan, three prominent and historic regional centres on the Volga River in the Russian Federation.

Services to Nizhny Novgorod International Airport (airport code GOJ) begin from July 25, while Samara’s Kurumoch International Airport (KUF) is served from August 7 and Kazan International Airport (KZN) from August 18. Flights run three times per week. Timetables for the routes connect well with flights to various European destinations and are as follows:

All times local Departure Arrival Duration
Helsinki-Nizhny Novgorod(Mon, Wed, Fri) 23:55 03:05 (next day) 2 hours 10 minutes
Nizhny Novgorod-Helsinki(Tue, Thu, Sat) 04:55 06:10 2 hours 15 minutes
Helsinki-Samara (Tue, Thu, Sun) 23:40 03:15 (next day) 2 hours 40 minutes
Samara-Helsinki (Mon, Wed, Fri) 04:05 06:00 2 hours 55 minutes
Helsinki-Kazan (Mon, Wed, Fri) 23:55 03:25 (next day) 2 hours 30 minutes
Kazan-Helsinki (Tue, Thu, Sat) 04:25 06:05 2 hours 40 minutes

Good news for the odd Finnish hockey fan looking to get to some Jokerit KHL road games

Also, some welcomed new late night Non-Schengen side action at HEL.

They are a bit unfortunate with the timing (Russian economy tanking and all that), but as I said earlier, not too many EU flights to those cities. Well, quick search regarding GOJ would suggest no direct flights from EU there. I could be wrong.

EDIT: I was wrong. At least Czech Airlines flies PRG-GOJ.

Is it only me or are those absolutely terrible departure and arrival times?

They are, but those are the facts of life when you are flying to smaller Russian/CIS cities, especially east of Moscow. Try getting to Kazakhstan...

This is business as usual when it comes to flights to provincial Russian cities... IIRC LH and OS have quite similar timetables.

How about someone explain to me then why it's business as usual? Airport fees? Russians wake up early? No need to offer lounge benefit? Immigration is a .....?

There might be other reasons, but we are all aware of the lack of aircraft at Finnair. It seems a good way of increasing the utilization. OTOH, Ekaterinburg flights have been operating for a while on this timings.
