I’m pretty sure I did this as well on a simple HEL-ARN flight, employer required me to go and for some reason there was very few flights and all full. I think I ended up with a Pro H-class ticket, can that be true?

EDIT: Seems I just might remember correctly:

CONFIRMED SEAT

You’ll get a confirmed Business or Economy Class seat when you make your reservation at least 48 hours before departure. Finnair guarantees confirmed seats in European scheduled Business Class booking classes J, C and D, and in scheduled European and intercontinental Economy Class booking classes Y, B and H

For Gold members it is booking class Y only guaranteed in economy.

Once I had to fly on a particular flight ARN-HEL which was sold out in all classes. You can't book directly with the AY web page a flight which is sold out. I did book online a H ticket for a different flight and then changed the reservation to the flight I wanted by phone. In this way there was no charge for the phone booking.

Used this perk last week, for some reason almost all flights from Stockholm that day were fully booked. Even though I should have been able to get it in booking class H or B as well, only Y allowed waitlisting, which then cleared in a minute or so.

I don't understand the reasoning here. If you use the seat guarantee, then why would there be a waitlist? Sounds like an excuse to extract more money...

If there is no availabilty it will automatically clear via the waitlist.

Extremely ridiculous, something I definately would not do for any leisure reason, but sometimes for business purposes such a price can be tolerable!

We (both OWE) are soon travelling with a friend (no status). She is on the same booking as we are.

Which of the below perks can we expect (or not) for our statusless friend?

- Priority security?
- Boarding group?

Many thanks for any insight.

With BA, she would get group 1 boarding. Not sure about AY.

None of those benefits extend to statusless, but you can always ask.

Your friend will receive a free seat assignment, and you can guest your friend to the lounge.

Seeking the advise of seasoned BUD heads! Doing a same plane turnaround in BUD in the future on 1251/2. The turnaround time seems to be 45 mins. The AY app displays arrival in T2A and departure from T2B. Anything I should worry about?

Your friend can use priority security in HEL, you need to enter together and ask the security staff and they will let him/her through. Unofficial perk but has worked several times for me.
