Current and historical promotions
This is a thread for reporting details of promotions in the Finnair+ program.
The purpose of the wiki is to keep a repository of current and historical promotions. This works best if all details are given in a post of the thread. Once such a post is made, edit the wiki and add a short description of promo in headline-style, with a link to the post that holds the detailed information. (You can create such a link by right-clicking the post-number and copy link location).
Do not link to the promo itself from the Wiki, as the promo page is likely to disappear once the promo ended and such link will die, leaving the wiki sans historical info.
Feel free to discuss alterations to the format in the thread below.
Do not delete historical posts.

New offers for Finnair Plus members ex-HEL (sign in under Finnish flag to see them):
Cash + 2000 points
OSL, CPH, RIX €69
GDN, VNO €99
more in Europe €109-199
Dubai €249
the rest starts at €399
Departing from other domestic airports seems to be just €9 extra - that's a deal actually!
The catch? It's a "Special Offer" X fare = 0 points earned, so I assume also 0 segments earned. Not sure if this was also used with those 1000 pts offers.

"X" - isn't it the normal award bucket? So if you look at it that way it's a good deal - save a lot of points by paying a little more.
I just checked - HEL-SIN in Y is 499€+2k, hardly cheaper than a normal revenue ticket. But if you were thinking redemptions anyway, you save 118k points and pay 250€ more vs "normal" redemption
Also very limited travel dates - PVG, PEK, CKG latest return 1.1.2018, ICN 2.2, SIN 12.2 HVN 25/12.2017 (!) Also BKK, HKG travel only Mon-Thu
On the upside - changes only for 50€, free for Gold & Plat.

I haven't checked the details yet, but a normal HEL-SIN in Y is something like 120k points+250€ so if I can book it for 2k+400€ it's good for me. Off to the website!

Wow, this is actually a great deal. Especially from my closest domestic Airport. However, availability is very limited before christmas.

Competition for free tickets to the Olympics in Korea, incl accommodations. 3 winners for 2 tickets each. Apparently you are only allowed to root for the Finnish team
Being "an it-girl" will probably increase your chances, as your social media activities are asked for in the application form.

About the pointshound promo:
I booked during the promo with a reputable chain but sadly had to cancel the entire trip. The room was no change / non ref so I just no-showed it. Transaction is still marked "pending" on pointshound and I have little hope it will change.
So while quality hotels in Thailand might not be online with pointshound, it is safest to assume all majors chains and hotels are.
Do you know if you actually needs to check in to get the points and the night?
If not, I think I'll make a reservation at some lovely establisment for 3 nights. I need three more nights to advance a level on the pointshound program. I think the three nights will pay off quickly when I get a higher accrual rate when making a "real" reservation.

Anyone else can try this and confirm?
