I normally just google them ad hoc "<FIR NAME> en route map" :) On a global level? Yes. On an ME3 level, I'd say it's heads & shoulders above the competition -- QR is only rebooking onto its metal with nothing going before 9 March and same O/D pairs, EY is cancelling one day at a time. Depending on how badly you want to get back to the DC area, the ORD offer with self-onward travel isn't bad -- EK also published offers for Europe-bound passengers on its confirmed services with a clearly published caveat that onward travel was on their own dime, those who want to, can do so immediately, and those who want to go directly to their destination, can wait. Thank you appreciate the response. |
EK sked for recovery flights tonight + tomorrow morning:

So that's about 15% of their normal EK flight departure daily numbers.

Was that AFTER the original flight was cancelled? Did you ask for a rerouting on a different carrier (as per UK/261), or did they offer it? And what class of service was it? We have an LGW/DXB/CPT coming up on Monday (in J). Would love them to give me direct on VS or BA. Or even 1 stop on KL or LH.
The new 27th rebooking date is helpful for me, as I am currently booked on HKG-DXB-MAN in EK F on 22 March and back 24 March. I wouldn't mind a switch to La Premiere but considering that only goes from Singapore I am not sure how Flexible EK would really be (one imagines less so). I would likely be "ok" with Swiss F too (HKG-ZRH-MAN), CX F looks to be sold out on my dates. But if the offers are a business class seat then I may just chance it and see whether EK can fly or will give me a refund (I am currently planning a backup trip via the US, but this would leave very little time in the UK beyond my original two days). Perhaps to make it a bit more complex, my return leg was paid First, but the outbound leg was paid business, miles upgrade to F. I do appreciate I could call up, but for the moment I wouldn't want to waste the hotlines time for something 2 weeks away unless I had quite a clear ask and plan of what was acceptable for me. |
The way I read it as far as the 27th rebooking date, it says that date is in play if you are affected by cancellations. I am also booked IAD-DXB-HKG in F on the 23rd but so far haven't been technically affected by cancellation so haven't tried calling and tying up lines. Am I reading the current terms correctly?

I’ve got three F flights towards the end of the month too that I’m watching closely. |

Emirates idiocy. Flight to IAD cancelled and they will not resume until 15 March. They are willing to book me to ORD but WILL NOT provide the connecting flight to IAD/DCA. This is despite acknowledging that this is in contravention of the terms of contract. They simply say I can then contact customer services for a refund of the domestic ticket.
They do say if I am willing to wait until 15 March then they can get me to my final destination. Rubbish customer care. |
Is F0 really zero? For DXB-ORD on the 6th and 7th there are still unassigned seats. Could this mean there are still seats open even though the flights have been zero'd in all classes? Given these are dates when there are "no scheduled" flights is there a way to get on these flights?

Inbound is a different story -- passengers only being accepted if destination is Dubai. |

From the pop up on EK website: "We are accommodating customers with earlier bookings as a priority on these limited flights. Customers transiting in Dubai will only be accepted for travel if their connecting flight is operating." |
I am scheduled to fly MEL-DXB-BRU with EK on 3 April (which is an eternity away, and what things will look like by then is anyone's guess). I am unsure whether to book a refundable and very expensive backup fare on another airline, likely CX, or whether to put my trust in EK that they will rebook me onto something else that will get me to BRU on time. I booked through an OTA and do not have status. Grateful for any advice

Can anyone explain, if everything else is working porperly at DXB Airport? Like security lines, trains, busses and most important lounges? Are they all opens and provide full service?

Does anyone know if EK164 Dublin to Dubai is going ahead tonight 5th March?
The inbound flight EK163 is currently on the way, but my booking says "disrupted", but all indications are that it is going ahead. |
