First EK Flight - looking for guidance
hey guys, apologies on the Emirates newbie questions to an EK flight. (i have been touring the forum).
I am travelling from London to Dubai (EK 32) and return on EK 003...I have seats 14A and then 17B and was looking at seatguru and looking for guidance from anyone that perhaps does this a bit regularly? I fly approx 200 to 250k miles per year and am oneworld emerald (typically ise BA, AA for transatlantic flights and then CX into Asia (for the most part)..I am pretty versed on seats and the routine with oneworld (ie. fast-tracking / lounges / etc) but wanted to try Emirates.
As for seat, my flight out is a friday night and i have a very chill saturday planned so would like to get the full experience and leverage the lounge at the airport as well as on the plane...not sure about arrival lounge? Any and all advice is really appreciated...
Thanks in advance, BB

You can of course use the on board lounge to your hearts content.
There are no arrival lounges anywhere in the EK system. The LHR lounge is pretty good and you board from the lounge. In Dubai you can use either of the J lounges (in concourse a, B or C). If you leave from concourse A you board from the lounge, in the other concourses that is not an option although for a few B gates you can board from the same level as the lounge. If you have a lot of time you can hop between lounges, you are free to use any of them. Dont bother with C if you dont depart from there, its the least attractive of the lounges. Do visit the Mot bar in the B lounge.

For a single passenger in J on the A380, choose an A or a K seat as they are more private than B or J seats. I think 23 A or K are the best.

Thanks so much. I will for sure try the Moet bar as well as airside and planeside lounge in LHR. I moved to 23A on the way out. on the return, no A or K options but a few B. D, G, J options in both the row 6 to 21 and 23 to 26 sections...would you recommend the 23 to 26 section and I assume privacy is similar for B,D,G,J seats, or do you have a reco for that also?

As far as where in the cabin to sit, let me give you my thinking, which is personal and may or me not be applicable to you:
Later this week, mrs t and I are flying AMS/DXB/JNB.
First leg is EK148 leaving AMS at 15h20. We will most likely have our pre-meal drinks at the bar / lounge and possibly something afterwards as well. As we arrive DXB around midnight which is 10pm (I think) AMS time, it is unlikely that we'll want to sleep a lot so we are in 23E/F.
Next leg is EK761. Leaves DXB 4am, so will want to sleep, arrives JNB 10:15. So no need for bar / lounge (will have been in the lounge at DXB anyway). So we are in 14E/F, easier to get to the seat when boarding and quicker off the aircraft after arrival.
I would avoid rows 25 and 26 as you are pretty close to the bar. It does not often get noisy (at least in my experience, though I have never flown MAN which seems to be notorious...), but row 23 and 24 are OK.
Yes, use the chauffeur service. In London it's pretty good. You'll get an email from Addison Lee about 2 days before departure / arrival to conform. On arrival there is a small 'lounge' to report to where you can then wait for your driver to come and fetch you (usually a few minutes).

The J lounge is massive and it takesnabout at least 10 mins to walk from one end to the other. I was there pass midnight and to my surprise, the lounge is very empty. May be only 50 passengers while the lounge can easily handle 20 times that.
