Thank you. I found it EK41 and 42

SentinelPrime Jan 14, 2024 3:44 am

EK41 AND EK 42 don't show the new F class layout while selecting seats. Is it a normal error or has something changed?

Sounds like an IT issue then... ExpertFlyer seems to be showing the correct seat map :-

EK235 ORD will get the 77W with the new F from Oct 27

Sant Jan 27, 2024 12:46 pm

Since the new F has two fewer seats than the old, how do they choose which pax get involuntary bumped if equipment is changed and more than 6 seats are sold?

It's more the opposite, given the few aircraft (9 of them) with the new F and them having a full schedule you will not see EK use one of the gsme changer 77W's as substitute aircraft on a flight where F with 8 seats is fully booked.

Great news if you are flying after Oct 27.... sadly, will be flying EK235 late Feb..... anyone have any knowledge if EK has periodically swapped in a 77W new F on this route??

New F has been used a total of twelve times on this route in the past year.

Four of those have been this month, on the 1st, 3rd, 12th and 20th.

Doesn't seem to be a pattern to it, but it's only because EK is one aircraft short in the 77W sub-fleet they regularly use on this route (old F, but new J).

I wouldn't count on it, just seems like pure luck whether you have a last minute swap on the day of your flight.

Thank you for that information.... At least I should get to experience the new J product, while Mrs B will have to suffer with the old F... if we end up with the new F, I'll be sure to go buy a lotto ticket upon our return.

EK235/6 is scheduled with aircraft configured 8F/42J/306Y (Gamechanger J) A6-EPV/W/X/Y/Z/ -EQA/B/C/D/E/F/G

These aircraft are currently rotating through C-checks (-EQD is at ISL at the moment) and when needed the preferred substitutes are the 6F/42J/306Y (Camechanger F/J) configured aircraft, -EQH/I/J/K/L/M/N/O/P.

Helpful info! And would you or anyone else have an opinion on whether EK rotating an aircraft out for C-checks with the possibility of have to swap in a 6F/42J/306Y frame might also explain the low availability for F awards on EK235/236. On my specific flight (about 3 wks out) EK shows only 2 of 8 F seats unavailable (and I think 1 of those 2 might be a blocked seat), but J has 25 of 42 seats reserved, so J demand might also be impacting F award availability??

Is there an updated list of routes flying the game changer?

Looking for an update list too
