Let's not forget LH as a top contender too...

Went around A and B last night and this morning

B had the corton which was singing.
Red wise it's leoville Barton , lynch bage and some J wine

A is nearly identical except for the Chile Don Melchor

Didn't have the energy to wander to C

You mean 2008 ‘normal’? I did not realise that they still have that around, it’s usually 2015 now.
On my next flight (just over 2 weeks away), there is 2015 ‘normal’ and 2009 rose. That I combination I’ve had before.

Interesting!

That is pretty cool. The 2008 is fantastic and I've missed it on my EK flights after January of this year.

Which flight was this?

Ek412 to Christchurch via Sydney

It wasn't on the menu even the crew were surprised as I was told it wasn't available on the Melbourne flight either

Interestingly the Dom Rose wasn’t listed on my in flight menu/book JFK-DXB last week. I seemed to be the only one drinking it as you wouldn’t know it was there unless you checked the online wine list, or an FA offered it proactively.

Wonder if it will be printed on tonight’s flight back to JFK. Will keep an eye on the year served as well

Oh boy things are really heating up onboard right now for the US flights.

Flew EK 232 yesterday - 2016 Opus may be the best wine I have ever drank, so incredibly smooth . 2006 Angelus was also offered but I really preferred the Opus, especially without any food (which to be honest was terrible out of IAD so I drank my calories). Some may disagree with that, but I find once you reach a certain price point it really comes down to palate, so if the Angelus is in theory a higher end selection the Opus was my winner by a long shot.

FA found one bottle of the 2009 Dom Rose (not on the menu) for me and I drank the whole bottle (Ooops!), also absolutely exceptional.

In the A lounge as i write this and my man scrounged up an open bottle of Angelus, he took his task seriously and was on the case and said has not seen any Opus and the Mouton has not been around for a little bit.

Too much fun for a guy who loves wine.

update from this morning in Dubai…

A few half open bottles of Angelus and Opus both in B. Have to be aggressive to find them I won’t lie. Not enough time on my shorter layover to check out the others.

I have a bit of a tidbit for onboard 2009 Dom Rose but don’t have time to type it out now, will get to it later for everyone.

How reliable are the wine lists on the app, within a week of departure?

In my experience for F pretty reliable. The J on-line list is often incomplete, only showing one white or one red (and there is always a choice of two for each).

Although the Dom Rosé was on the app for EK16 which I have just disembarked from, it wasn’t in the ‘book’, it wasn’t offered (by the otherwise excellent FA) and I didn’t ask for an explanation. So I had to drink the normal stuff. Terrible first world problem.
The 2006 Angelus made up for it :D

I was told last week you sometimes need to ask, it was not in the book/magazine (what a hoot that thing is, I miss the old menus) on any of my recent flights but was onboard 3/4 flights. I mentioned up thread a purser gave me some info, before it appears some blogs picked it up that Rose was going to be offered out of DXB. They are supposed to be loading at least 1 bottle of Dom Rose, or he said something else he deemed as "sommelier choice" out of DXB, basically one bottle of something off menu. I was flying EK359 so a return to DXB, but as I mulled over the not-so-inspiring wine list the wonderful purser said let me see if I can find anything fun for you. We went on to chatting and he gave me this info, said something along the lines of most FA's either aren't aware or aren't going to go looking proactively. If this is all true or not I am not sure, but he did find a bottle of 2009 Rose on EK359 which should not have been there according the menu or online.
