Do you all generally ask for the decanter on board or are FAs typically proactive? Realizing I haven’t gotten it recently, though I could’ve asked.

I am usually proactively offered the carafe/decanter, although perhaps more because I show an interest in the wine. I'll comment on the wines that interest me and that I'm looking forward to enjoying them. I will also make sure to ask, if a bottle is not already open, that the crew opens the bottle and lets it breath before serving.

Good to know, thank you! Next time I’ll also ask that bottles be opened, that’s great thinking.

No Dom Rose.

Notables ones:

Château Angelus 2006

Amuse Bouche Red 2021

Mon Trajet Chardonnay 2023

Looking at a couple LHR December flights the selection doesn’t look as exciting on the Bordeaux front. Haut-Bailly 2011 is a fantastic wine, but relative to Angelus or Lafite etc.! Perdix still there though, and the Louis Latour white.

2 bottles of p2 2006 loaded on my flight yesterday cmb dxb so perhaps that’s the new pre departure off list fizz for dec.

Back to P2 season already, love it!
I just hope they handle the catering better than the recent Dom Rose. If all bottles are only being catered ex-DXB and they're loading 2 bottles only, it would really be appreciated if they at least kept one reserved for the return flight to DXB.
I'm sure others will report back sooner, but hopeful it will be available on my JFK-DXB in 2 weeks.

its 2 ex departure from dxb

we were lucky clearly no one on inbound (2.30 am) was on the lash

Had P2 on LHR-DXB earlier in the week. Not proactively offered. I asked crew if there was anything special loaded and she had a look. P2 emerged. Think only I tucked in.

Same on return flight. Not proactively offered but there were bottles loaded.

Maybe not always two ex DXB.

Even with prior knowledge that it was "my cabin", they still loaded three... so, nice surprise to the pax on the return (I'm not "Ol' Ironliver" like some here ... one bottle is more than enough for me, especially as Paradis is catnip for me - resistance is useless - so I need a little reserve capacity!)

No Opus or Angelus in A FCL. Managed to locate Chateau Montrose 2005 - turned out to be nice.

2005 Montrose is a great wine! I haven't seen it onboard (at least not for a year +) so I wonder which routes it's been served on or maybe it's just stocked for the lounges independently (which would be very nice).

In terms of the Angelus, it's been gone from the flights I take for the last few months which must have had a ripple effect on the lounge offering.

Had it on BKK to DXB the other day. It’s indeed excellent.

Also reporting that Dom P2 was available on request on both BKK-DXB and DXB-LHR. Similar to the Rose last month, it’s not on the printed list. But while the Rose was appearing on the online wine list, the P2 is not there either. Which I don’t mind, as I think I was the only one knowing and drinking it.

Hopefully, the selection on the JFK flights will be similar soon and won't be fully consumed by the pax on the flight from DXB...

I was in the DXB Lounge, business, not first class. But quite impressive line up IMO.
This was found next to the Moet bar, the rest of the lounge had average wines. Curious whether this is normal?

There was also a bottle Bouchard Montrachet, unbelievable!
