You normally only get the Verve Cliquot on the ground in the UK.

I asked the purser, and she said it’s a one off.

There were two bottles catered, and wanted everyone to enjoy it before take off. Only regular Dom listed on the menu.

edit: fingers crossed if my next leg has any P2 left. :p

I don’t recall something of this level being served. 👍🏻

I found the 2005 Chateau Palmer in a lounge this past Saturday. The bottle was already opened, but the server said it wasn't in good shape and opened a new one for us, telling us it was the last bottle. It was an excellent wine at 6 a.m. 😎

Nice!

A few days ago, unfortunately, 2005 Palmer wasn't available in the A/B lounges, but it was on the flight to JFK.

Didn't expect P2 to still be around, but I see it on the wine list for my JFK-DXB tonight.
Looking forward to trying the Chateau Palmer as well

They're both on that sector (at least as of a few days ago). Amazing stuff. Enjoy.

P2 listed on the online list for recent flight to UK but not offered onboard. Not the end of the world as the 2015 is very nice, but was looking forward to mixing it up.

That’s too bad. On a recent flight (which had the P2), they were serving the 2013 instead of the 2015 (and the 2015 was on the list), which was very nice. Must have been a stray bottle since I haven’t seen the 2013 in many months.

Anyone visit the DXB First Class lounge recently? What wines were available?

Yes. A mix of what's being served onboard so if you look at recent flights you'll get a good sense, but with some exceptions and luck of the draw. Some reds were 2008 Smith Haut Lafitte, 2011 Troplong, 2012 Penfolds RWT Shiraz. But there was no 2005 Palmer a few days ago (which was available a few weeks ago), which I was hoping to have more of on the ground as opposed to in the air.

Looks like P2 is still making the rounds even when it’s not listed on the online or onboard menus
Some data points over the last week:

Was listed and available on my JFK-DXB last week

Was not listed and didn’t inquire for my DXB-LHR on Monday as I slept the whole flight

Was not listed but was available and proactively offered on my MXP-JFK today

Im delighted to find that my sectors next month to and from MXP have been upgraded to receive the Mouton 04 instead of Palmer 05. Any datapoints on how many bottles they load onto each flight? The plan is to drink it dry!

Amazing. Seems to be starting this month as I see it on my DXB-LHR in a couple of weeks (but not my flight next week). It’s at least a couple per sector on the A380 in my experience, not sure if the 777 perhaps only gets one bottle each way, though.

Also on my DXB-ORD next month. :)

I'm not sure it's an upgrade, although it's really all good. The 2005 Palmer is a kick-a$$ wine from an amazing vintage; 2004 is a very different animal, Mouton or not, much more classic and subdued. The Mouton is more ready to drink (although it could also benefit from more time in bottle) while the Palmer needs a lot more time in bottle.
