And wouldn’t be LGPS unless EK or LVMH were to end the LVMH partnership which I think is really unlikely. I think Krug is only brand they have with the aligned positioning amongst EK’s F/J customer base, shall we say, and I wonder if LVMH has sufficient production for it that they’d release in such bulk to an airline.

My bet is DP stays for a long time…unless there are changes at Chateau Arnault…

They could do vintage or La Grande Dame Veuve (I don't particularly care for NV Veuve (nor DP frankly) but have enjoyed some vintages, never tried LGD).
Maybe even throw in a Ruinart BdB (do they have vintage?)

They currently have vintage Veuve in J, at least on the SFO flights....

they have discussed Krug and I was told it might be happening - gone quiet since

SQ are having problems with supplies of Krug, so doubt it will find its way onto EK F

+1 on Veuve. Ruinart would be a great alternative. Ruinart BdB in J and Dom Ruinart vintage in F.

It is off topic a bit but do you know what they are replacing with in lieu of supply?

Also the Ruinart BdB would be an exceptional J Champagne. Most understated luxury NV imo.

That is definitely not the EK vibe…

Understated luxury products are for other airlines, hence why it’s only Krug or Dom Perignon, at least until Ruinart and Veuve are next up for the bling influencer marketing makeover!

Well then Ace of Spades it must be! (Turns out it's 50% owned by LVMH).

I had Jay-Z's swill in QR F recently... I went to J cabin and got a glass of LP instead.

No chance it’s bad champagne- they can’t shift it here either

ijgordon Jan 23, 2024 12:22 pm

Oh interesting, I had no idea it was that bad.

It's not, it's actually pretty good champagne in my opinion and some bizarre exaggeration going on above, it's just somewhat overpriced is all.

QR was putting this in the same cabin as they usually serve Krug, let's just say expectations were high. I don't think it came to even the standard of most big houses' vintage champagnes.
