Yes all drinks available 24 hours. They have an A La Carte breakfast menu for food during that time, but it also has an all day menu section which has burgers and steaks etc.

I have never asked but have you managed to order the 'all day menu' during the breakfast hours? I always assumed you were limited to the breakfast menu due to the timings written on the menus?

No - this thread generally details what's served on board. However, the F & J lounges sometimes have some of the "premium" wines available off menu. Just ask when you get there.

Oh, and as per below, the lounges are open 24 hours for food & wine. The menu service is halted for an hour at 11am when it switches from breakfast to lunch, but the buffet is still available.

We have a 9 hour layover in a couple of weeks, flying on to Chicago. Is there a particular bar/area in the A lounge to ask for the "premium" wines? I've seen some pretty impressive stuff floating around in the last few months.

If you are a smoker, the F cigar lounge in concourse is often a good place as the area does feel truly 'hosted' by the two staff working there. Alternatively you can often find a good waiter in the dining section who can go on a hunt and often they can offer things such as dessert wines (Y'Quem if they have any) which are not usually at the bar.

Yes - on the "new" online F lounge menu the all-day is formally all-day (even though before they would usually be able to do you a steak or burger at the 0400-0600 wave at FCL A/B).

Where did you find that online? Searched the FCL page and didn't see it.

When I have used the online menus they have always shown timings, lunch and dinner menu served 11:00-04:00 and a breakfast menu served 04:00-11:00.

I’ll check it out next week

The new menu definitely has an All Day Menu section, which the waiter pointed out as my partner didnt feel like having breakfast, she said all of the items were available. In the end we didnt have very long so just stuck to a few simple breakfast items. The F lounge food is really good standard.

It's not published on the website, there is a QR code on the tables in the lounge which link to a page. Unfortunately I've already deleted it from my history so you may have to wait a couple of weeks before I can find another link!

Hi. Does anyone know what red wines are currently in First LGW-DXB? The app is showing 4 reds, 3 of which are also showing in business class, the 4th is the Torbreck which i'm not a great fan of personally. Indeed was hoping for something a little better, I had the Opus 2008 on my last flight a few weeks ago. Thanks

I’m afraid I think it is 3 shared business class reds plus the RunRig at the moment, I did LGW-DXB on Thursday.

Isn't the Clos du Marquis 2005 on that fight as well? Showing online at least. But I do understand what your saying. I've got a LAX-DXB flight in the next week and seems its about the same. Only 2 F Red offerings, the others are also offered in J. Would be nice to have another option or two with a premium wine. But can't fault as we'll be able to enjoy 3 amazing whites. Dom '08, '08 Yquem, and the '11 Louis Latour.

flying_pig Mar 2, 2022 4:00 pm

London routes are currently offering two exclusive whites and two reds dedicated to F which I believe constitutes an excellent offering (on top of the Dom and a dedicated sweet wine), especially as these bottles are often exceptional and the ones offered in J are better than what some other airlines serve in J... Not just in terms of wines, but also vintages.

tpsmith82 Mar 12, 2022 3:05 am

Well I can attest we had some great wines on our LAX to DXB flight. There were indeed 2 premium whites and 2 premium reds on offer for first class. That being said...my favorite of the entire list was the Chateau d'yquem 2008. WOW what a wine. I do enjoy sauternes and have had a number of noteworthy bottles, but nothing touches this. We've got another flight in a few days and I will certainly be pairing this with at least a couple of course.

Looking at our flight from DXB to CPT on the 19th it is showing NO first class exclusive red offering? Could that really be the case? There are only 2 reds listed, both of wich are also listed on the business menu.

For something not often reported in this thread - LGW-DXB Y :D

Maison Sichel Sirius Bordeaux 2021, a Sauvignon Semillion blend.

Wolf Blass Yellow Label Shiraz 2018

Lounge serving not just Laurent-Perrier, but also Champagne Rodier Pere et Fils Brut NV

For FT I had to sample all of them. All perfectly acceptable to keep you going for a few hours of travel.

Who said this thread is only for wine snobs, wine alcoholics welcome here too! :D

Good wines for economy, would challenge many airlines business class offering!
