I can’t tell you how excited I am for my flight. Just the wine list alone is getting me worked up for it, not to mention the new first suite!

That's a tough life to be living there. Can't say that I'd want to be in your shoes

Make sure you ask for some water on your next flight or you’re going to regret it in the morning

Haha yes, I cleared out 3 suites worth of water in the 777
Great wine, the hermitage worked best

second flight had the leoville las cases. It was a little weak (maybe air pressure thing) had the tesseron n paradis. Drinkers will prefer tesseron

I was being a weaksauce and didn’t drink after lounge B but I did crawl over to lounge A but it’s seems to be same offering

JFK-DXB and DXB-ICN

I will be on JFK-DXB and DXB-ICN in September in First and from the website it doesn't look like there are any exciting wines (far from the promised First Growth collection wines) - everything seems to be in the $50 per bottle range.

Does anyone know what to expect to be served on board or in the DXB lounges?

That's 10x what the wines in BA F cost...

there is no promise of first growths, I’m sure if you are paying for an ex US F flight $400 for a bottle of wine is ok...

Of course it would be - just surprised to read all these post about top notch wines and the preview for these flights on emirates.com seems to indicate that they are serving more or less average wines on my flights. In other words, is there a chance that they will load something great on these flights and the menu that is preview is off?

I heard that some of the great wines are hiding in the DXB lounge but you have to ask for them? Any tips how to go about this?

There are definitely surprises.

The DXB Lounges get the leftovers, they're great for J, but being in F you'll probably not find them that amazing

Thanks! That makes sense.

One last question: Is the wine list on emirates.com updated as i get close to departure or do i have to hope for "surprises" - both legs seem to have the exact same wine list which seems weird. Also, the app seems to have a different list - which one is more accurate in your experience?

It can update, they should be the same (app and online), not sure why they're different. Just hope for the best

Nothing is for sure until you're onboard and have the menu in your hands. The website has been getting less and less accurate as of late.

There's often bonus wines that aren't on the menu, which are quite nice sometimes.

I would also comment that often the selection of the 'lesser' wines is excellent and they often perform very well in the air. I have had some excellent wines from small producers that are new to me (EK may sometimes buy up the whole production for a vintage).
