Information on Load requests

The number of seats for sale for a flight are available via ExpertFlyer.com, a subscription-based service with a 5-day free trial. A subscription is $9.99/month and can be enabled and disabled any time. It is encouraged to subscribe rather than post repeatedly in this thread.

NB: Op-up changes or overselling of a flight cannot be determined with certainty from this information, only inferred to be more or less probable.

For a once-off load request please follow these guidelines:

Flight loads >7 days out are not very useful, as the airline could still sell many seats, unless availability of a specific fare bucket (e.g. Business Saver upgrade) is requested. If you wish to know the general flight load please don't post >7 days before departure.

When requesting a load please provide the following information:

- Date of flight (departure date)
- Flight Number
- Origin
- Destination

These four fields are mandatory in searching on ExpertFlyer (see screenshot below) and it isn't fair to except those who pay for their subscriptions to also have to go look up which cities a specific flight number is from and to (also some flight numbers are onward flights (5th freedom routes, e.g. CMB-MLE) and loads will differ significantly depending on which sector of the flight is checked.

These have 304 or 306 seats in Y I believe. Are some not available for sale or is their another reason they don't show on whatever system you check on?

there are seats are (hard) blocked for crew, resulting in a lower count of physical capacity. Usually the last 3 rows on the right side.

I thought this was fairly common knowledge to anyone who flew EK more than once a decade... I have never actually seen those seats used by crew though and normally half way through the flight they give up on telling people not to sit there lol

Most of us wouldn't know where these seats are. What is Y anyway???

That's what I would have guessed at, but on the flight in question EF was showing 1 blocked and the rest occupied IIRC which confused me.

seems to have been an issue for a while with EF now, not as reliable as it was in the past. my flight to lhr is showing similar differences: it is quite possible that this is a difference between the DCS and res system that EF scrapes.

I just subscribed to ExpertFlyer and have a question. Im looking at EK 202, JFK-DXB on 27 December. If Im reading correctly it says there are two seats available in F that day but the seat map shows all seats full, except two that are blocked. Does Emirates block those two seats for a reason? Are they actually available as potential revenue or award seats? Merry Christmas to all!

If EF shows ‘F2’ as availability, then those blocked seats are indeed for sale as revenue. Would seem unlikely that they will be made available as award seats, but stranger things have happened.

I see it is a 77W with new F. Would be nice to grab those

I know its quite a ways out and is certain to change, but would anyone be willing to provide the current availability on EK226 for March 13 2021? I ask as a first time EK flyer and infrequent traveler whos surprised to see the *wide open* seat map. TIA.

Edit: so I followed the steps and found this on expert flyer...

Hello JetsGo, welcome to FlyerTalk and to the Emirates forum in particular. We hope to see more of you here (and on board an Emirates flight of course!).
You have already answered your own question, but can I take the liberty of pointing out the usual 'etiquette' with respect to flight load requests? Please always provide not only a flight number but also the route concerned. You will have discovered that Expert Flyer requires that as an input and few people on this forum know the departure and destination airports of all EK flights by heart so they would have to look that up. Also, as you indicate yourself, asking the question more than a few days before departure is usually pretty useless as everything can (and normally will) change. And to keep on asking the same question several times will let's say 'not go down well'.
But generally we are a helpful bunch here so please don't be put off by the above!

Passengerload CPH-DXB

I will be travelling from CPH to DXB on march 27, I would think, that the plane must be nearly empty. Are there anywhere I can find out? It is just out of curiosity :-)

Seat Alert app from Expertflyer or a dummy booking on Expedia will show seats available for selection. Not perfect, but an indicator.

Maybe a little bit of an indicator in F or J where you get free seat selection (apart from J Special fares, H bucket).
But almost completely useless for Y where you have to pay for seat selection (subject to status). I suspect very very few people will pay for seat selection now that flights are relatively empty. So the seat map on EF will show an almost empty cabin, independent of the actual number of seats sold.

Here you go - Economy could be more filled as most passengers will wait until 48 hrs before choosing a seat.
