Please can some one check flight load.
EK022 on 19/6/19. MAN - DXB.
I’m trying to ascertain the possibility of an upgrade offer email from economy to business. |

O7 is interesting, those are Saver fares, maybe worth checking what the upgrade cost is. There are also some of the new Business Special fares available (H fare, click for more info). The discounted upgrade offers come out of the P bucket, which is currently 0. What's interesting to note is that in my experience if P>0 you can consistently force receiving an upgrade offer by performing the online check-in via a desktop computer on the main emirates.com website (not the mobile site and not the app). But since P=0 right now there will be no offers for anyone at this stage. For the future please keep in mind that we have a dedicated thread for requesting flight loads: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/emir...k-request.html |
Thanks for that. I might make a call to see what the price is. |

Thanks, it’s a holiday booking through emirates, will I still be able to check online? |
Spoke to emirates customer services and it appears that the fare bucket my ticket is in means I would have to upgrade to an economy fare eligible for upgrade, then upgrade to business. It was approx £800 for the outbound flight, which is a little steep for me for this flight. Not to worry, thanks for the help. |

Some weirdness here... As you mentioned H fares from MAN, I went and did a dummy booking. Coming back a week later (also tried a few months later). Only Business Flex showed, so a return on £3774!!!
While the inventory exists I am unable to find any actual fares files for that fare bucket, so looks like that's not happened yet. I see two H fares files for DXB-MAN: - Advance purchase of 5 days - Min stay of 3 days. - No stopovers, period. - Date restricted that the fares are eligible - Changes permitted any time for Dhs800 - Cancellation anytime for Dhs1600 - No show before departure Dhs3200 (base fare is Dhs2500 for reference) - Change fee waived for upgrade to higher cabin (standard) No mention re chauffeur, lounge or seat restrictions in the fare rules, but that doesn't mean much. Actually surprised the permit refund and changes. |

I.e. in the above example you can buy 6 (or more, it's always a minimum number) seats in full fare Y (Flex Plus) OR 6 or more in Y Flex (B). If you buy 3 tickets in B then all other fare buckets decrease by 3 as well. In Y EK will Show availability as high as 9, so the fact they show 6 for this flight indicates it's quite full. Also the fact they're only selling down to B. The flight is likely already lightly oversold (less than 10 over). in J EK will Show availability up to 7, which is what they're still showing. This doesn't mean the cabin is empty though, it's probably well loaded but not full, 50-70%, but that's a less educated guess than Y. F availability is displayed as a maximum of 4, which is what's available here. For J and F the seat maps are better indicators of load than in Y, where it's meaningless. Though with J Specials coming into the market this may change |

You don't mention which class you're in or which flight to DUB. But 415 on the 19th Y6 down to B6, J7 to I7 and F4 A4. They're selling 6 or more tickets in mid-level Flex or higher in Y.

Sorry EK163 and EK412 are the 2 flights to and from DXB to DUB. Also curious, how can Y be lightly oversold if it’s still showing 6 seats available? Thanks |

Oops sorry yes flying economy flex plus, hoping to upgrade to business. Thanks for the info, will keep my fingers crossed for an upgrade. I know what Y, J and F mean but is there an explanation somewhere for what fares the other letters are referring to? F4 A4 J7 C7 I7 O0 H0 P0 Y5 E5 R5 W5M5 B5 U0 K0 Q0 L0 T0 V0 X0 As you can see another seat has been sold since the earlier check and now down to 5. From left to right it pretty much follows the F, J and Y pattern: F & A = First Class (F) J, C, I, O, H & P = Business Class (J) Y to X = Economy Class (Y) Generally speaking the further left within a cabin the fare bucket is the higher the fare, e.g. Y, E & F are Flex Plus fares while X is a Special fare. The flight can be oversold because Emirates will sell the total number of seats on a flight. Meaning if the combined unsold seats in J and F are 20 they will oversell Y by around 20. It's not always exact, sometimes they over-oversell and this results in IDBs (Involuntary Denied Boarding). On EK this can be quite lucrative as they will rebook you on a later flight in addition to giving you a free return ticket which you can use within the next 12 months, so if you have some flexibility and travel more than once a year this can be very useful. |

Thanks F4 A4 J7 C7 I7 O7 H7 P2 Y9 E9 R9 W9M9 B9 U9 K9 Q9 L9 T9 V9 X9 Looks pretty open, there are currently 2 seats for discounted cash upgrade offers (no lounge access, additional miles or chauffeur drive), which is the P fare bucket. If you've not received an e-mail offer you can try catch it during online check-in by using the desktop website (not app or mobile site). Y looks pretty wide open. A little far out to get meaningful data for the 24th, I'd try again in 2-3 days |
