For some routes (with less demand) EK will need the A332. If B77L will be used for long-haul routes the B77W (360 seats) is the smallest possible aircraft - don't think it will work (unless as EK will cancel such routes).
A340 and B772 hopefully will go within one or two years and the 12 B773 can easily replaced by B77W.

I think, EK should by some A330, A350 or B787.

For destinations like EBL, BSR, SKT, TRV, MED, MCT, BAH, KRT, EBB or ADD....I can`t imagine the demand is there to justify a B777....but we will see....:-)

They do, and I'm pretty sure they will order this autumn. 2015 is a Dubai Air Show year. If European bilaterals improve, I predict they'll get the A350. If not, they still might, but the others might be in the running....

Emirates cancelled their order for 70 A350s, so I suspect that prediction is unlikely to come true. If they need a smaller plane then A330neo or 787 is a better fit.

B787 or A350 - would be the perfect aircraft to replace A330/A340/B772 and even B77L. Would complent the EK fleet beside A380 and B77W/B77X with a capacity around 250 to 300 seats.

Actually, I think you're talking about A380neo?

Here is the link:

Emirates Airline president Tim Clark has reportedly said he would buy 100 Airbus A380neos if the European aircraft manufacturer decided to launch a re-engined version.
Go for it!

Emirates today announced the suspension of services on the Dubai – Baghdad route following an incident yesterday when a FlyDubai Boeing 737-800 was hit by small arms fire on landing at Baghdad. The aviation authority of the UAE therefore issued a ban on flights to Baghdad.

True. I agree that there is a good chance to see an order for the A350 or 787 by the Dubai Airshow in November, however any deliveries would not happen until 2018 at the earliest. That's why I stated earlier that by the end of 2017 the fleet could very well be just A380s, 777-200LRs, and 777-300ERs.

The biggest operational issue facing EK over the next 3-5 years is airfield and ATM capacity. The only way for them to grow capacity is by increasing average aircraft size. The net increase in the number of aircraft will be minimal, but the average size will increase. It's a major reason why will not see the same number of new destinations and frequencies that we've been used to seeing over the past few years.

No SAH reinstatement anytime soon.

It was bad for a few days last week but has been quiet since.

I'm in South Yemen now and will be flying to Sana'a on Saturday.

If EK will not reinstate its morning slot, I am hopeful another airline (Qatar?) will soon fill the gap as there are hundreds of oilfield workers who want better connections to get home (currently limited to Gulf and Yemenia)
