Perhaps, I think they will consider LGW-JFK or LAX. JFK is a slot controlled. I don't think its possible.

Also heard TATL flights were being discussed from MAN and GLA.

Given the reported success of the MXP-JFK flight, I think it's only a matter of time before there are more choices from Europe to USA.

How would EK secure fifth freedom rights from the U.K.?

EK don't believe it will be a problem.

EK418/419 is long overdue to go up to an A380 from B777.

Would love to see EK432/433 also up gauge to A380 - but somehow think a second direct DBX-BNE service would be more in order. And then DBX-MEL would go double direct before BNE ever would.

So to be honest I don't think the market is there for EK to do a AUS to DPS service on the way to somewhere else.
With DXB-ADL-DXB doing really well, would a DXB-HKT-ADL, DXB-DPS-ADL or DXB-ADL-AKL be a good addition. ADL has no direct HKT service and relies on connections via PER, SIN, KUL or the usual SYD and MEL.

Also DPS is only served by VA or JQ

For EK to launch MIA, EK would need an extra 77L. I'd say SEA will get upgraded to a 77W, or DFW to 77W. Then MIA would get EK service. Which would probably happen soon. Once EK upgrades a 77L route.

My guess, EK to start MIA in October 2014.

India lifts ban on A380

As per bloomberg, India has officially lifted the ban on the A380 to India. The current A380 compliant airports are DEL, BOM, HYD, and BLR. MAA will be coming online soon.

Pretty good timing, particularly since EK is said to have 2-class A380s arriving in the third quarter of 2014. Now, EK will have to try and increase the number of seats it can operate to India in order to increase the number of flights, or upguage the existing flights.

That's great news. I wonder if that's the 77L that will go to BOS, or that will be an extra 77L..

That B77L will go to BOS.

There are currently some B77L flying to European destiantions. If these will switch to B77W there are some B77L freed up to start e.g. ORD or MIA. Time will tell.

What European routes have the 77L?

Not 100% 77L, but often: GVA, LIS, MAD, for example.
