Champagne maybe unlimited as they typically carry enough and there is only so much one can drink; caviar definitely not.

One helping of caviar is 50g, which means one and a half 35g tin. You don’t get it in the tin anymore, but in a ‘heap’ on your plate. You can ask for another helping and if they have enough, you’ll get it. A FA once told me that the ‘record’ is someone having 7 (!) helpings which would be 10 tins. This may be an Ek FA legend, but I was assured it is true. I was once given a second helping (without asking for it, it was appearently a mistake) and have been offered a second helping more than once (never taken it, I like it but not so much as to gorge myself on the stuff).

Ah good to know - all the YouTubers say "unlimited caviar and champagne" but I should take that with a grain of salt :)

Emirates do claim that, so not unreasonable to expect it.

First Class customers will experience the ultimate comfort onboard with fully enclosed private suites, a ‘dine on demand’ service including unlimited caviar and Dom Pérignon champagne, luxurious hydra-active pyjamas, Byredo skincare and sustainable Voya shower products in the A380 Onboard shower.

Caviar is salty enough without that additional grain :D

A380 Refurb

I know that refitted A380s with new PE have updated cabin interiors in F and J including with the new style bar, but does anyone know if there are plans to refresh the cabins on 3 class a380 aircraft? Or if this is already in progress?

The planes that will remain in 3 class (oldest planes I assume( F,C and Y will probably the first planes to leave the fleet and will not receive any upgrade.

The first non-GameChanger B777 has been retrofitted and returned to service yesterday.

A6-EPV was in the hangar for 30 days, and left in a new config - 8F/40J/24W/256Y

The eight F Suites remain the same, but J is now in a 1-2-1 layout like the GC B777s.

Oh wow, if I remember correctly EPV was in CPT not too long ago. Now all we need is for it to return for a flight I am on!

Is PE on the horizon for SA? Chatted with a Joburg-based EK staff member, and he suggested not.

For the flights to BRU, GVA and ZRH; EK need 5 frames (not counting short hops to DMM and KWI).....

So, I believe EK will use the other 4 GC frames to ORD and HND as well.

Of course aircraft changes will happen due many reasons.

The twelve frames EPV-EQG will be mainly used on flights to BOS, DFW, SEA, EWR, BOG, BOM, DEL, GIG and other destinations according to operational needs.

Rumour has it that A350 #1 (A6-EXA) will be delivered tomorrow (25th November).

The temporary French Airbus registration has been removed, which is a good sign.

This is the J seat I’m keen to see. Perhaps wishful thinking on my part, but the wording of the press release for the refurbed aircraft and the new airframes suggested a different seat.

If EK go with the same 388 seat in J (more than a decade old design, with some updates) on a brand new airframe (first in several years) that doesn’t have F, then I’ll be disappointed.

The current seat is adequate and it makes sense to install it on older refurbed airframes EK don’t want to keep forever. But installing it on new airframes would just show a lack of ambition IMO.

It will be interesting to see this ‘new’ seat.
All these modern herringbone type configurations seem to have all sorts of bells and whistles (like little cubbyholes everywhere), but footwells so narrow that you have to cross your ankles when you lie down. For me the EK A380 seat is perfect, plenty of space to sit and lie comfortably and also room to put your stuff on the table next to you and the shelf above the ‘minibar’. A USB C port would be a nice refinement though. All in all I hope they don’t throw out the baby with the bathwater.

Not at all suggesting they go dull grey herringbone with footwells designed for (possibly, cruelly, by) ballerinas, and yes, ideally they keep the good from what they have today. But for aircraft that won’t have F, I think they can push the envelope a bit more, as there’s less risk of cannibalisation. On the new airframes, these are seats that will be around for a long time.

Now showing on Flightradar, it’ll operate as EK7350.

One of the A380’s has had AC Milan stickers applied to it. Any idea which one it is?
