I submitted a request for refund at about 2pm. By 4pm I got a [personalized] response giving the amount that would be refunded and the ticket number. It said it would take 15 days.

The ticket was bought in Pakistan.

Pretty good so far, now let's see how long the refund takes. ^

It sounds from others' experiences here that this is a conservative estimate, but, still, this is completely outrageous. It should be instantaneous -- it certainly is when they take your money.
They did not say it will take 21 days, just that it could take up to 21 days; quite a difference

My refund this month was requested on the 4th July, received an email a day or so later and the funds were visible back on the credit card on the 16th ; that does not seem a particularly excessive time and a lot better than some airlines

I think that 12 days, or 11 days after their acknowledgement, is excessive. I agree that it's not out of the norm for other airlines (or on-line purchases in some other circumstances), but, objectively, it seems longer than it should be.

*shrug* it takes Emirates several days to charge a credit card after purchase; they may take an authorisation at time of purchase but it takes several days imo before funds are debited from the card

That it takes a few days for processing ( 8 business days in my case) for the refund to be processed and for the credit card company to process the credit hardly seems excessive to me and dramatically quicker than some other airlines; not come across any that are quicker

Well, the funds showed up in my account five days after getting the notice, so not horrible; though still 14 days after filling out the form. At least they did a good job managing my expectations.

I have to cancel my A fare from CMB. Have called for 2 days in a row and they keep telling me to call back tomorrow as it is a special fare and they need a interpurtation on the rules. I can clearly see them online, "cancellation any timecancellations permitted". This seems pretty inept, is this the usual for EK?

I got the same response when cancelling an A fare from CMB-LAX. They agreed I would be refunded 38 days ago and 8 days ago they agreed to chase up my refund and yet still I haven't received the monies
