If AA did NY to TLV, it would add more capacity to the route and be able to profit off of additional premium seating in the market. It would do well.
NYC and Miami to TLV are markets with a large population which would travel to Israel.
Having AA in the market will be superior to having Tower Air back in and AA will be able to be in the market for the long term. AA would have substantial clout and could even be used for DoD or military just like Tower was with government contracts.
I don't see why AA would NOT take advantage of a TLV flight. Only factors would be political, not the fact of the amount of revenue it would bring and customers which will allow it to be profitable.

Political? And the other factor is legal. Not too mention that the route may not actually be as profitable as everyone here indicates. Assuming it is, then the big question is the legal one

Thank you Open Skies! EasyJet starting service to Rome Sep 24. Why not Paris, Amsterdam or Milan, I don't understand, but it's a start.

clubmanm they're not great days for businessmen. But what about for tourists?
Does easyjet actually cater to business travelers at all? (Their website indicates they do, but I've never actually flown them)

Certainly! Their intra Europe flights are packed with business people.
As for the days, well Tuesday is a bit of a neither here nor there day (i.e too late for a mid week break and too early for the weekend.
Saturday generaly tens to be a pretty quiet day for travel out of TLV.
